is it possible to use two versions of utorrent on the same pc ?

yesterday i received two invites , one to tti and other myspleen

tti banned 1.6.1 which i was using for a while , ok fine i decided to upgarde . and myspleen bans the latest version

i tried azureus but have to be honest , it sucks

now the question is can i keep two versions of the utorrent client and use 1.6.1 for myspleen dow/up and 1.7.7 for tti .

you can do this by creating another user and then configuring the other version of utorrent to use different directories. Once you have created the new user install the older version of utor under that user and configure it then when leaving that user session simply switch users do not log off, it is easier to point the different version of utor to a different directory but you can skip this it is just easier to keep the files separate.

I take it you are using XP or Vista as your O/S ?

try 1.7.6 it is allowed everywhere I think.

Isn't 1.7.6 allowed on myspleen?

create a shortcut of utorrent. Right click on the shortcut and go properties, and put /recover at the end of utorrent.exe

eg. "C:\Program Files\uTorrent\utorrent.exe" /recover

You will need both clients to run in recover mode for it to work.

u are wrong,on many sites 176 and below are banned, maybe there are some sites that still alowed 161 but there is no point of that if u useing other trackers that banned 161 and same is with 176..

just use 177 and it is allowed on many sites

u dont need to change anything, all settings that u have on 161 should be also the same on 177:)

also dont forget to disable in preference/bitTorrent peer exchange, local peer discovery

but not on czone anymore... just saw the news, and I am tired of this shit... :

"DO not use utorrent 1.7.7 Your account might be disabled for fake reasons. Use only utorrent 1.7.6 or utorrent 1.6.1. Other accepted clients: Azureus.

Do not use BitTornado or other shitty clients. If your account will be disabled because your client sent wrong information to our server, no one will help you.

Please be sure to use the recommended versions of utorrent (1.7.6 or 1.6.1).

how to use multiple instances

1) Create a new folder
2) Copy utorrent.exe into that folder
3) Copy the .dat files from %appdata%\uTorrent into this new folder
4) Create a shortcut for this utorrent.exe in this folder
5) Edit the shortcut's target by adding /RECOVER to the end of the Target, outside of any quotation marks, and separated with a space.
6) Open this shortcut. Your settings should be retained, just edit the IP and/or port you want to bind to
