I didn't vote because my soft mod is not on the list. I have a hard drive and use hdloader. You can rent games, install them on the hd, then play from it. Have 30+ games on it

Sold my modded slim ps2 today. I didnt really play it and it was slim so I cant have IDE HDD on it. I think I will be getting fat PS2 some day and fill the HDD with games :)

I got my Sons Ps2 modded with the matrix infinity chip a couple years ago and it's still working excellent. The chip can also be updated from the matrix website :)

I also got a second one modded just recently with the modbo chip I think is the name and yeah it's running perfect too.... no copied or downloaded games have failed me yet :)

I use SwapMagic right now, and I've never had a problem with it.
However, the actual swapping gets a little annoying. I've been thinking about getting an external and HDLoader for it.

Bucktoof, do you have the FAT+internal HDD, or do you have an slim+external, and if so.. what kind of HDD is it?

I remember reading you can only have USB HDD on slim model and USB is too slow. Only option left is getting fat PS2 and IDE HDD. No support for SATA.

I live in Dublin/Ireland and luckily for me there is a guy/company located in the southern Ireland that mod Ps2's, Xbox360, ect....

I actually got my kids wii chipped too with the wii key I think is the name.

It was great I just paid by regestered post and sent and received the consoles back within 3 days!! I sent it/them on a monday and got them back on a Wednesday

Makes me love BCG even more

40€ here for wii and 30€ for the chip wiikey. PS2 is more expensive.

I'm planning on modding my wii so I can play japanese SSBB :)

The cost for getting the Wii chipped was €100, thats including the chip and having it installed. It also cost €16 for registered post to have it sent swiftly and also the console is insured and u can track ur order.

To have the Ps2 chipped it's similar.. I think it's €110 for certain chips and €100 for others and thats including the chip and having it installed AND having it sent back to u by next day 1st class.

The guy or company does Here (Ireland) and also ships to the UK too. Obviously I can't post the link here to the website but if anyone wants it, just pm me.

My chipped consoles are running perfect and no games have failed me yet :)

I have the larger older ps2, with the expansion bay. It was intended for a future hd component. You have to buy a network adapter for the ps2, that's how the hd will connect to your console. I bought a maxtor hd 120gb cuz HDloader only recognizes hd's up to that size. HDadvance, which a friend of mine has, can recognize up to 200gb. There are newer versions of the programs out now that can use bigger hd's plus are more compatible with games. The ps2 formats the hd when you get it or the hdloader application does...can't remember, but my hd was sold as a package with the software. I could've just as easily put it into a pc instead. It is an internal hard drive.

Mines was modified with a chip. There are plenty of places in Canada who sell and install mod chips.

I soft modded mine with the independence exploit and am using hdloader (0.8.3 or something whichever version is the newest one that's on an .elf).

Works pretty nicely...though I need to figure out a way to get my internal hdd hooked up to my laptop to put more stuff on it.

FTPing a game over takes too long.

Have not modded my daughter's PS2.
She'd kill me if I broke it. Will swap disc do the trick?
I've had my Wii modded with CycloWiz chip £25 and mate fitted for free. No problems found to date.:D

I never modded mine (yes, I actually paid for games). My PSP 2000 is, however, softmodded, you could say, with custom firmware.

Solderless. Don't really use it now, so I'm thinking about selling it and getting a PC emulator

DMS3 last firmware modchip 2.4b7 Fat v4 ps2.

Now I've set it up so that I use HDLoader and put games on the hard drive then plug it in the ps2.

I've killed my laser once, so I did it to future proof it.

I also use HDloader + hdd. I download the games though and hook the ps2 hdd up to my external usb enclosure and copy the games onto the drive using winhiip.
