Hi everyone, this is my first post, but ive been reading this forum extensively for a while.
Recently started checking out the seedbox offers, and a month ago i purchased Layeredtech 100mbit box with 2TB. Speeds are topping my upload and download, but the limited bandwidth is just not my cup of tea. In 3 days i almost used up all the bandwidth.
So I ordered and OVH 100mbit, 1GB dual core 2Ghz 750GB box.
Had it for about 5 days, and while downloads are maxing the 100mbit connection at about 11.2MByte/sec, the upload is on average at about 10mbit or 1.2MByte/sec... Sometimes it spikes to about 4.5MByte/s but for a short period... Not sure what to do, using fedora + wine + uTorrent, but installed tflux-b4rt as well to see if there are any difference... Tried limiting my download to about 5Mbyte/s, but no improvements.
I also contacted OVH, and they said the DO NOT throttle the bandwidth, and its the problem on the downloaders end.,... yeah right...

With this thread id like to ask for help to anyone that might know how to improve the upload speeds on the OVH seedbox, and if there is an OVH user that could help me i will offer him few days of upload off of my server. I think thats pretty fair.

Thanks in advance brothers. :)

There is nothing you can do really that you havent done already. I would have recommended limiting your download speed as if you have an ide hard drive youll have issues with read speeds. You have tried another client too, which would be the next test to make sure utorrent wasnt holding you back, but when it comes down to it...its the network.

The issue lies with the OvH not your seedbox. Their network is known around the block for having poor peer connection. Internal speeds are amazing to other OvH boxes, but external, OvH just has sh***y peer connection. I had one for a month and regretted it forever. I say use it for what it is until your month expires...then switch to a different provider. Avoid the french providers...they are just sh**.

Sorry mate :(

They are good, dont get me wrong...but not for people who want to use it for torrenting.

yeah french networks are complete shit for connections outside of France, even within the EU. Same thing for dedibox and all their different names.

the thing is that ive seen some others with OVH on hdbits actually uploading at about 4-5MB/sec... Tried to pm them but i guess they must be sleeping... I hope there is a way

What is the best unlimited bandwidth provider for peer to peer under $100? I have layeredtech, and the speeds are just amazing, but i can spend their 2TB bandwidth in 2 days.... Need a nice recommendation on unlimited server from you guys.
Thanks

Can you explain how good it gets and why do you have to be fast?
Sometimes im first one and in about 10 minutes everyone uploaded more than me... even when im first the upload speed is terrible! Maybe if i ran only 1 torrent then i might get 1.2MB/s just for that one torrent which could be good, but now im running 12 torrents just so i can saturate the speed somehow.... still cap 1.2MB/s

Any other ovh user wanna add something?

i guess more and more people are using them for torrenting, explaining it's way slower than 4 months ago

i used to get 6 MB/s whenever i want
