Most sites mention that "Inactive accounts will be deleted after 42 days" or whatever number of days. Does that mean that I just have to sign in to the site to keep the account active or do i have to downoad a torrent within those number of days to keep it active.

And do different sites interpret this rule differently?

Some trackers request not only to login but to download something from time to time.
Otherwise your acount might be pruned for inactivity.

Read the FAQ of the tracker you are interested in.

You cannot park your account on every tracker.

Yes they do interpret it differently. My advice is if it isn't clearly stated on the rules what they mean by inactive then PM someone from the staff.

Some trackers just need you to login and browse one page, others need you to have some kind of torrent activity and there are still others where parking your account doesn't isent you from their inactivity rules after some time. Although if u have parked it it is usually possible to get it back...

Depends

Every site has different rules for inactivity purge.

[Yes different sites interpret this rule differently].

OiNK did not purge PU account i.e. once you are PU, your safe from automatic purge.

TranceRoute has "Immortality" feature. You just have to exchange some "energy" for "Immortality" and the system won't ever auto-purge your account

Blackcats has 60 days purge i think. You just have to login within 60 days to save yourself from getting purged.

Iplay has "Accounts with less than 175MB in total Upload / Download activity per month may be disabled." I am not sure since it says "may" instead of "will", so maybe it's manual purge instead of auto-purge? But anyway, u get the idea right?

Unless you go on holidays, if your account gets disabled for inactivity you really don't need it.

Is it possible to park the account when ever you need to?

I just make sure I'm always seeding at least 1 torrent in each of my sites. I obviously visit them each every week, not to mention month, but as long as you're seeding most accounts should be safe.

what if i keep seeding a torrent from a particular site ? does that count as activity even if nobody is leeching from me ?

I think that doesn't count on most sites. Again, there are lots of differences between sites. Read the faq and search the forums. If you can't find it there, pm the appropriate staff member.
