Can Someone Recommend An Mp3 Editing Program?

Is it possible to make a number of cuts in a large mp3 track at set intervals?

In other words, I've got a radio-recorded mp3 that's 106 minutes long, and I'd like the program to cut it (divide and separate) at every 5 minute interval that so I have 21 or so smaller mp3s.It's been recommended that I try Mp3 DirectCut, and I've now got it, but don't have a clue as to how to get it to do the job (manuals don't cite such instructions).

If you don't think this is the program for such a task, but are aware of another, can you please give me the name?

Sound Forge 6.0 or Cool Edit Pro
Both should do the job just fine. I recommend SF6.0 at first place. :)

I'll give SF6 a try...Think it will be self explanatory as to how to do this particular job, or will there involve a lot of manual reading/faq's/web-searching, etc?

It's not that hard to use. You just go and do it. Just open your particular 106 minutes file and split it. You'll see...

But remember, you will need a serial for SF6.0 and a serial for the MP3 plug-in which you can get Here (http://www.cracks4u.us)

In my opinion, the easiest non-destructive (lossless) way to do it is Mp3 TrackMaker. It cuts mp3 files whithout decompressing.
The brilliant thing about this proggy is that it can use Winamp to set the cutting points.
Just play the file you want to cut up in Winamp and pause it at the point(s) where you want to split it.
Mp3 Trackmaker can then grab the winamp position. Works wonderful.
