Hi All,

I'am using newsgroups now for some years but i like to get the stuff faster :)

So i want to use torrents on the private torrents sites etc..

Whats the best way to start ? I have been in the scene (irc / ftp / fxp) years ago so i'am not a total noob :whistling

Thx

I think the best way for you to start is here : http://filesharingtalk.com/vb3/f-bittorrent-43/t-post-sites-open-signup-thread-117091
Join a tracker read the RULES read the FAQ and start using it , don`t jump straight to private tracker`s . First u need to know the basic rules and the main one is u seed what u leech 1:1 . Do that see iff u like it better then newsgroups .
And check this thread to : http://filesharingtalk.com/vb3/f-bittorrent-43/t-what-trackers-offer-content-speed-pre-time-etc-235742 you will find here which tracker`s have what you search for .
P.S I posted this asuming that u didn`t use tracker`s until now.

My main advice to you is to take it slow and don't download more than you can seed back. Also, don't sign up for every tracker you see and always use a different user name and passwords whenever possible. Good luck and have fun.

Why use a different user name, it's better to keep the same name and build a name for yourself in the community, this way down the road you'll get into the better private trackers... ;)

My advice is for you to use the advanced search function. This has been discussed in detail many times.

I've used NGs for over 10 years now, never will fully go over to BT as my up is 10 times less than what my down is, so it's a balance between getting the big things from NGs and not having to give back what you take, and then grabbing the smaller things from BT which are easy to give back and you can't generally find them all on NGs anyway, music apps, 0day apps, and apps in general etc.

The forums associated with BT sites are what separates them though, and some are better than others, and are way better than text based usenet groups which are just aggressive and arrogant these days (a style which I find hard to let go of when I post in forums still!)

Your best bet would be start off with a general 0Day tracker to cut your teeth so to speak, then hang around here for a while and get to know some really good people who may in time invite you to other places where you can hang out and have fun whilst downloading, all the time learning about what trackers offer, which trackers offer you the best content to suit your needs, and specialist trackers for the off beat stuff.

It's a learning curve, and I'm not going to tell you what to do and how to do it, but generally there are those that trade their way into any thing and everything (considered the pariahs of BT and tracker staff and them with the invites) and those with patience who get to know the right people and are able to walk into trackers by the front door with their head held high, the choice is yours to make of course.

There are many, many trackers to get to know, just take your time and read & absorb as much as you can, and keep asking questions, most will be happy to answer to the best that we can.

Above all, have fun along your journey :)

Edit - and always, always read the rules & the stickies, they are there for a reason :D
