Help With Installing New Hardware

Hi i recently bought a wintv card slotted it in put the screw in so its secure, pluged all the leads in when the insall the hardware(tv card) and it says im running two insallations at the same time which im not so i cant install the tv card as the is a supposid insallation underway, please could you help as this happened when i was trying to install my scanner so i got a professtional in and he did something with teh my computer settings and then it was all installed.

Please help i've been trying for days

wot windows you running? i would take it out and restart ya pc, will need to know what windows you running to go through step by step things to do, also it may seem silly question but have you read the instructions properly? some things require the hardware to be found by "plug and play" before you run the software.
