Speed Differences Between uTorrent & Azureus?

Sometimes you hear people talking about one client being faster then another, but then I'm not sure I've seen any real data to back up this claim, more likely just speculation on the end-users part.

Like they always seemed to have slow downloads when using one, and then when installing another client notice a difference and think it's better, when all it was is they just downloaded a better torrent with more peers, and nothing to attribute to the client at all.

But is there any real proof out there could there be any differences in speed between these two applications?

The only difference is in layout and features, and then the fact that Azureus is Java-based and does use up a little more resources depending on version

And then the fact that you can have more active torrents in uTorrent than Azureus without beginning to act sluggish (I'm talking +150-200)

But then again if you don't mind queued torrents, Azureus has that feature and I have heard of cases with +1800 loaded torrents without problems in Azureus.

Actually, there are differences.

The snubbing algorithms in each client will be different, dictating how your client will act towards slow peers. Depending on the makeup of the swarm, this could affect both the download and upload speeds. On a decent size swarm though it wont make a major difference.

the speed always depends on a good tweaking of each client. and it's around the same at each other, i'm a recent switcher to azureus.

i use azureus , took a while to perfect queuing system but all is good now :)
