Better than anything out there. You have to sign up but it's free. It has the most massive collection of e-books I've ever seen in one link. It's organized, contains images and information about the files, has categories, search, and many mirrors for most of the files.
I love this place

Bitme is mostly self-help.
This has a lot more categories especially for literature and fiction

As a pro reader/collecter after "BitMe" Warez-BB.org comes handy for direct download .

The best place for ebooks if they are not IT related would be warez -forums.
There is a tracker called ebooksshare or something like that
which specializes in ebooks (Non IT stuff).
Demonoid has lott of stuff
Have a great day

Demonoid FTW!
Now that it has resurrected. More and more stuff will be uploaded and reseeded there.

gigapedia is pretty nice
#bookz in irc.undernet.org is pretty nice as well
i also use warez-bb...just to find out RS links :P
also, searchable filesharing sites as www.esnips.com helps as well

on first appearance, it looks very stripped-down and bare, but don't be fooled! the collection is immense, and covers almost every topic on the planet! be prepared to search a little though...links are all rapidshare.
for literature(and only literature), including some real gems, try
http://www.truly-free.org/
the owner calls it a library, and lets you "borrow" 5 books at a time, but hey, they're all novels, so it's o.k...how fast can you read anyway?
