after you first acquired your PC ,at least now it seems dumb. I will start it off.

I had my computer for about a couple of days when I was required to enter a password. I attempted to do so but only saw astericks for my effort. I had to call support and have them tell my what was going on. :D

I wanted to format the C drive once, but forgot how to do it properly, so after getting frustrated i decided to delete random files in the C:\WINDOWS folder. when the computer restarted it just showed an error message about files missing, It took me over a week to get help and the files i needed to repair it.

another time Windows wouldn't get past the loading screen, i kept restarting it over and over, then i googled the message and found out it was caused by the mouse/keyboard not connected properly.

This was a few months ago. I entered the dreaded "rm -rf" command in ubuntu by mistake while logged in as root and watched in horror while all my personal and system files were being deleted in front of me one by one and there was nothing I can do to stop it. One of the most helpless feelings ever.

Back when I was still using Windows 95, I was going to reformat due to virus issues and tried backing up my PC on 3.5" floppies.

Got through about 30 of them before giving up.

My OCD was once so bad I would wash my hands up to four times in a day.

I know that seems mad now but at the time I just couldn't control it.

Now that reminds me. I once took the advice of some dude out there that I could delete 1500 files that I did not need. I did and consequently had to resort to a quick restore disk I had gotton with my 98 Compaq. Thank goodness I had that. Beware the powers of the mouse along with a computer illiterate.

I actually had Bonzai Buddy on my machine. *gasps* I deleted files in order to save space - important files. doh! Live and learn. At least I can laugh now. It's important to always have a second machine to google a solution.

Dumbest thing I ever did after acquiring my first PC was buying a house with a girl I'd only met six months before.

At least that's what people told me at the time. We split up after a year, I kept the house and gave her what now seems like a negligible amount of money to feck off. Soon after, the house doubled in value due to the property boom.

Two things;
1. Mistakes can rawk, at the very least one learns from them. At best, some application of thought can remedy the situation into one that's positively beneficial.
2. Why did everyone write about boring computer stuffs.

It was reported, I think.
I remember reading it and not understanding what was going on in the conversation the same way I don't understand what's going on in it now.:pinch:

I believe the dumbest thing I've ever done to one of my computers was when I realized I had somehow downloaded a virus. It called itself the 8 Ball and when it loaded it proceeded to start an automatic countdown before it executed its "hold on to your butts 'cause you're about to get fucked" damage. Instead of manually doing a quick hard system shut down I clicked OK on the pop up screen, lol.

I ended up losing vital system files and every file that ended in a music or video extension. It hurt. I cried.

I reported it to Brandon but didnt report it to anyone here. I assure you it isn't doctored. He sent it to me trying to brag and prehaps prove some sort of point. He made a poll a long time ago asking what he should trade for FTN it was deleted within 10 minutes and that is why he was put on moderation.
The options were along the lines of
-sell it for $100
-trade it for uk-t 600 gb buffer
-1 gbit seedbox
- forget trading, give it away.
I replied that his thread was retarded and and a few minutes later. I find that he has forwarded me some PM's to prove that people gave him these offers (I guess he was trying to brag or something)
I also have the user name of the guy on uk-t that was gonna trade his account off, with a screenshot.
