However it is an awesome place to visit.
I'm pretty sure Rookie is American.
The fact is majority of expatriates who live here refer UAE as dubai even though they live in other cities, cuz dubai is not only the main city in UAE its the main city in entire ME, probably in upper asia side. few more year when major projects like PAlM/World islands and bushiness BAY finishes it will probably end up as top City in ASIA. we dont have oil resources, Dubai's economy is driven by properties, and the capital is driven only by OIL.

You're all wrong. Dubai is an emirate. One of the United Arab Emirates.
The city of Dubai is a city within the emirate of Dubai.
i wasnt sure if you could understand Emarah/emirate(اماره)
and whats with "city within emirate of dubai", dubai is one of seven emirates.

There is more to the emirate of Dubai than Dubai city. There is a lot of sand and some towns too. Take a look at a map and you'll see.
