Mr Fugley wishes to change his car (currently an S reg Renault Clio).

I've got it down to two that I like, the Focus or the Astra. Please do not confuse the issue for me by suggesting a different option but your opinions on the above are invited and will be appreciated.
Thanks!

At one time, I would have said Astra every time, but I had the oportunity to test drive both about 2 years ago. The Astra has got so overweight it can't hack it against the Focus.
Don't know about the Toyota thingy, but you know what they say- the car in front is a Toyota - why doesn't the twat pull over and let people pass ?

Anyway, they are all crap, get a Seat.

I used to like the Astra, however having driven a modern Focus I think it is a nice (if seriously bland) car. You would also have no problem getting parts for it if required.

If I had to get one or t'other (which I wouldn't thro' choice) I would get a Focus.

you want the ST170 or Focus RS if you can afford :P

if you have quite a bit of spare cash, you could get the WRC car

however, back to the real world, the 5 door hatch is probably the best...

Get an Astra coupe 2.0 turbo limited/bertone edtion. Looks gr8 and goes like poo poo off a shiny shovel!
Or a Seat Leon Cupra R (same reason as above) but 210bhp out a 1.8!!!
Of course I'm biased, I work for 'em!

'kin hell :w00t:

Anyway back on topic......
With cars nowdays it's always best to look a bit further down the line in terms of costs-servicing being a big one.
For example an Astra 16 valve will need it's cambelt changed about every 40,000 miles, so if you do high mileage it may cost ya.
Best way to find out about the servicing intervals on a car is to go to a main dealer and speak to their sevice department (sales will fob you off with bs to try and sell you a motor.)
