I can stand it no longer...I've waited 10 hours and it's killing me...

if you order one of leaseweb's "express servers" that promise to be up within 24 hours of ordering, how long does it really take them? Am I going to have to wait another 13 hours and 59 minutes?

:frusty:

If I where you, I would wait the full 24 hours before changing anything. Patience is a virtue my friend. Good luck setting up your box!

I recently just went with Leaseweb and my server was totally set up in about 6 or 7 hours. You'll like it once you get it.. :D Don't know why I waited so long to get one...

well, it may not matter....i logged into the account center, no IP assigned, and it states my service is to begin 1-4-08...WTF?!?

This was a sort of frivolous "impulse buy", meaning that the online-within-a-day promise was the key factor....

I've got an email into customer support, interested to see what they say.

The start date is just to match the billing cycles to the start of the month.
It can take one full business day, so just be patient.

OK, no change this morning, either, but reading the replies here have helped. Got a little bit more to wait, I guess. Thanks all.

Took 2-3 days in my case.

It took mine almost 24 hours. Within the period they say it takes so don't worry.

Also, and about the billing cycle, you'll have immediate access and then, until the last 5 business days of March, you'll have to pay March ( from the day you bough it ) and also April. You always pay in advance to the exception of the first month where there might be some adjustments to be made as in your case.

So get prepaired for a nice load of money going out in the last days of March... lol

Btw, good choice!

Cheers.

Make a lawsuit. Maybe torture and psychological damage be admitted by court.

All good things come to those who wait, sometimes. Congrats on your new box.

I havn't tried leaseweb yet. Can U let us know what the speeds are like mate. I can hit upto 11mbs up and down with my Vectoral box and I'm happy :) But maybe I'll check out leaseweb some day.
Also can you let me know what the FTP is like too as I need good FTP speeds for big files to my HD. I can hit between 300-355kbs with Vectoral.

Basically, speed is IMO their strongest point. I usually have to cap my download cause of the "Disk overload" issue ( That is related with little RAM and perhaps a lousy HD from what I've read so far )but as to upload I've once hit 12.3 MB/s.

I send data home at 400-420 KB/s.

That sounds quite good.

I've tried quite a few server providers as in Tzulo (starting out), ZedX5, Softlayer and more...
I wasn't happy with all of the above's FTP speeds. I was hitting upto 180kbs max. I download lots of dvdr's and wii games for the kid so when I went with Vectoral and was hitting 350kbs to my HD I was very happy.

But thanks for the info as I might try out leaseweb in a couple/few months time. I'm happy enough with Vectoral for the time being.

speeds look pretty good so far (7mb down on a heavily seeded torrent, haven't gotten on one yet w/ tons of leechers).

now if i can just get my ftp setup sorted out...

All this drama for nothing. 24 hours is pretty quick compared to other sites.

It took them just about 24 hours to set-up my Express Server. That's still fairly fast compared to other companies.

A truly valid point for the first time seedbox'er....the other day, i thought 2000GB, how could i use all of it?

Now I see that I've used 850GB after four days!!!:P

Same here wabbitslayer.. I'm going to be ordering a bigger server with more GB's. Or after talking with fatcat I'll probably just go with a dedi box from hosting ie and keep them both. Leaseweb was nice to cut my teeth on for a month or two but need more.. Can't hurt to have 2 seedbox's... I'm addicted to leasewebs speed..

So much would you say you are spending a month on your kickass seedboxes kapone? I'm still considering one.
