You can buy it from the post office themselves for £110.
http://www.royalmail.com/portal/rm/content1?mediaId=56000706&catId=400085
Looking at what we get, it's encrypted so you'd need some software to make sense of it, it's probably not what you want...
There is a minimum data supply cost of £600.
that link u gave me has £110 min license fee, then further "supply charges"...
are you sure i can get it for only £110?

No :blushing:
I just read the small print. :pinch:
EDIT: Our company gets theirs from a company called QAS (http://www.qas.co.uk/index.htm?tid=1&tdet=qas&engine=adwords!10346&keyword=qas&match_type=).
I don't know much about pricing though. It depends what you want.
is there any chance you could help me get your encrypted file as well as your decrypting program?

£395 is the cheapest I can find.

I'm thinking that what we have would be no good to you, because I'm guessing you want to do something like a large direct marketing campaign, which
1). I don't agree with in principle
and
2). What we use only lets us do individual postcode/address lookups, it doesn't give us access to the entire database at once. Therefore it'd be no good for you.
Also I don't want to get into trouble with my company or our suppliers, sorry! ;)
To be honest, when I first saw your thread I thought you were making a joke :dabs:
barbz - ever heard of filesharing?
no joke, and i only want it to help me dynamically link up different pages in a website to other relevant pages (eg postcodes to street names...etc)
offer of $100 still stands for anyone who can get me this file

How about something like this? Web-based postal address lookup software.

Why would someone resident in the UK, wanting the UK post codes be offering to pay for it in $US via paypal.
Sounds like some kind of scam to me.

Do you have a black and white cat and a wee red van. :w00t:yes people have this strange idea that we just go into work and pick up the mail and deliver it. no i am in a town centre office with a high percentage of coffin dodgers for customers. and finally i did have a black and white cat but i run over it in the yard with my shiny red van. the end :)

So you do actually sort it, then go round the streets with your sack over your shoulder delivering the mail.
Cool, I feel we are somehow connected, what with me currently reading Going Postal by Terry Pratchett. True Story.

It's not Pratchett's finest but well worth a read for all that. As ever he holds a rather squinty mirror up to society. Whilst at the same time being damned funny.
