Go with fedora. With this guide it's really easy to get utorrent running on linux:

I think that Windows 2003 Server Web Edition is FOR FREE... Mark it and "continue" You will see price for license 0.00GBP :) But Windows eat more RAM than Debian... If you know how to install uT at Debian, choose Debian 4.0, it's ok, i have it at my server and i never had any problems ;)

Windows is bad 4 seedbox, coz it eats moore RAM than Debian... And here's the problem, my mate have Win Server 2003 WebEdition at seedbox and he's not happy from using his seedbox... He have a low speeds... U need a lot of RAM with these speeds !!! Choose Debian 4.0... I'm telling u ;)

I ll suggest go with Debian or Fedora

Also, try rtorrent. Its really easy to use once you get it going. Just read their manual

With rtorrent and ssh you will get the best out of your box

uTorrent gives many problems at high speed if you dont have enough RAM

I just set my seedbox up with Naqs guide.
I have 512 meg of ram on it I went with FD 6
I'm not having any problems with disk over load I'm trying to push as hard as I can just to see I'm using Utorrent .
It' been 24 hours and now I have over 500 gigs up :)
Back to Naqs guide It has everything that you need
Just ask questions and they will be answered :)

One thing with OVH is that you can change operation systems.
You can start with nix and if it's to much of a pain change to windows.

I would rent one In a heartbeat But I live In a county that can't rent it.
Maybe someday I will figure out how order one.

Choose this one:

Windows 2003 Server Web Edition operating system alone

It is free.

It's your choice.

Your box has 1GB of RAM, which is plenty to run the free Web Windows.

However, I would still go with a Unix box if it was my choice, but there are some options you may wish to consider:

If you plan on using the box for a long time and putting lots of accounts there, your best management would be Windows and FireFox and leaving the sites logged in there and managing everything from there and just FTPing files back to your home PC.

If it is just a couple, or a small number, of sites you want to buffer only, and a short term solution, then unix would be your best to get maximum up & down in a short time.

I would recommend starting out with ubuntu but debian is also a good starting point.
