I've been trying to get in to Blackcats for over a year,it's the last site i'm looking to join.However after checking their signup page day after day (almost like daily routine as having breakfast in the morning) and keep seeing that signups are closed,will Blackcats ever open?If so when?

I check the signup everyday as well, but I doubt they will open anytime soon.

Occasionally stoi puts a thread up in the invites section at fst if he thinks the site could do with some more active users that can contribute to the site, but i bet he goes through a very strict eliminating process.

If they do ever open for invites, im sure like me that members to the site will also carefully decide who deserves the invite. People who come just for invites will not get a chance, they are expected to be active members on the forum and not just posts like 'good luck' in invite threads. Also if u have any traces of trading accounts on fst u sure as hell wont be in with a chance.

Yeah, there was a period where I didn't download anything for about two months or so, but still logged in daily and posted for the community. So I think as long as you log in here and there your account should be fine.

say you want a game that was uploaded 6-12 months ago or even longer, i dont know, you have just heard about it and think, oh never knew that existed, will give it a try.

it has 10 seeders but 0 leechers, usually on other sites you would be scared shitless to touch it, incase you couldnt get a ratio back (on trackers with a hit and run rule anyway)

on BCG you can jump on it, download it hopefully at a decent speed, stay seeding for however long it takes, and get a 1 ratio on that torrent just for seeding it, even if there is no leechers for weeks after.

Just because we are not taking them all in one huge influx, doesnt mean no one is getting in, because they are.

We are only letting in so many at certain times, but the times are not that far apart (its not like 100 at 5pm and 100 at 12pm type thing).

This is without a doubt the most difficult tracker i have ever tried to get into without success.

I don't know either. I used the Check4Change firefox plugin, which worked like a charm. I got from the "grab some cocoa" screen to the signup one no problem. Then I tried signing up, and forgot to put my gender in. Then I came back to the page, filled in that field and my password, and ever since I can't connect to the site. I always get a:

Firefox can't find the server at www.blackcats-games.net.

Oh well, I see later if i can connect.

Sorry for this honest opinion and believe me i respect you for all the hard work you must have running BCG and all , but for me this tracker was clearly the "joke tracker of the month".

Badfungus, the tracker's not a joke. Its just that so many people want to get in at the same time, that there's a tiny chance someone could get in. I think stoi is letting in 15000 users in one month. Thats plenty its just by chance, as I bet there are at least 50 people refreshing the signup page right now. As for the captcha thing, that was aggravating, but they fixed it, and we can now get it. Like me.

The intention was to let a limited number of people in so that the tracker wasn't flooded. Over the next few months the tracker will grow with decent members getting in and there will be very few who have signed up with the specific intention of trading their account.

Only try 4 times per hour, 14 mins, 29 mins, 44 mins & 59 mins past the hour and only try for 1 or 2 minutes at a time, if you don't get it, walk away and do something different to calm down for a while.

but we are going to do it so if you refresh more than XX number of times every hour (i dont know the numbers) then you will not get in for another 24 hours.

so just be careful, members are getting in, we will have taking 500 ish when the new numbers have been going for 24 hours

before we started this, we had taken 60 members i think

now we have taken 2008-04 590 members

What's interesting, is after seeing the signup page twice (at x:15 and x:28), and hearing stoi and SgtMajor talk about it being at specific times, I realized myself that it was opening at those times and just came back and refreshed like mad from x:13-x:17 and x:25-x:30.

For those still trying - just do exactly what stoi and SgtMajor said. Refresh at the specific times and get ready to type fast.

It is ok to close the gates for some sites to make sure that all the members inside it are proper peers. Closing the gates making the work easier, it's really hard to track all the members when every day a new members signing up..

U-G is quite different than BCG. U-G is tracker dedicated to retro* and classic* games, and ONLY such games, thus not allowing 6th and 7th generation console games** and PC games released after 2001 (AFAIK) - and all of these are BCG's speciality. Again, if you're a retro* gamer, then U-G is the best tracker for you'll ever find. bitGAMER is much more similar to BCG than U-G.

YES I have this same problem, using Check4Change to refresh the signup.php page every 15 seconds and every once in a while it will go to the registration page but when filled out it just says:

Max users have been reached

or

it wont let me register and says this:

Max users have been reached for the current time period. Have some cocoa, watch the sun rise (or set), and come back. Nature is beautiful. You might get lucky.

I have a question - the signup failed message above message says to "watch the sun rise (or set), and come back" does this mean when it is open for registration during dawn or dusk at the location of the server?
