Yeah. But I don't see logging in, or downloading something, every 30-60 days(or whatever the sites rule is) a real hard thing to do to keep your account active.

how hard is it to login every 30 days or so? if there were no pruning, there would be tons and tons of inactive accounts. especially for a tracker with limited users, pruning is a must.

Why keep something you don't use or need?

Why keep something you don't use or need?

if i stay away from a particular site for a while for whatever reason, it doesnt mean i am not gona use it in the future

and if someone doesnt care about a site , why the hell would they even bother to seed ? they can leech the hell out of it and get disabled

You lost every tracker you have, or just one.... because of inactivity? If it is just one, then I say you are careless for not loging in. But if you lost all your tracker because you there is no line (internet) then I am sorry for you; and I would not like to be in that same situation.

Usually you can park your account to protect it from automatically deletion.

But I also got pruned from a site I would have liked to check back, and I found my account to be disabled not deleted.

Yep, like others have said, you could have used the parked function if you weren't going to use the tracker for awhile. Typically, if you park your account AND inform staff that you won't be logging in for awhile, they will keep your account open if you give them a good reason too.

Yeah, it works using the parking function, but many sites doesnt have this function :-/

if you care about an acc and you plan to be gone for some time you can always send a pm to a nice staff member..

I think the system that some trackers have to not prune user accounts when you are VIP or power user is a good thing.

I admit that logging into a tracker every 30 or 60 days isn't that hard so i've never had any pruning-probs before. Except on trackers i don't use off course.

Proper sites have a parking function. Either way it's your own fault. Live with it.

i think 40 days is long time too at least once log in (in that time),if u cant do that then why useing private sites

if pruning sucks then there are good news for u,start useing public sites and u will never have to worry abouth pruning:D

well tell me about it
i lost 10 power user accounts due to inactivity in the 2 months period i was abroad and there was no connection available.

power user accounts shouldn't be pruned due to inactivity he uploaded and contribute to the tracker why you neglect him give him a notice or make it 3 months for power users.
dammit sympathy is what i need?
i'll go and smoke a joint.

Some sites have this feature that if u are power user or above u cant be pruned from system only by staff member

but not that many sites have it atm, probably in future more sites will have this feature

i told them over 15 sites and parked my account
5 remained 10 gone
the irony is the ones which remains where almost fresh no download nor upload
isn't this nonsense.
they come here and talk about community
the admins who respect their users won't pruned parked power user accounts
2 admins replied to my pm
2 of high level trackers
really high level in courtesy and dignity
really polite and helpful replies.
you know what.one of these two trackers spot high old trader once.he gave him an account.
because of this admin high morals and understanding
the man stopped trading for ever
he is saying it's enough for him to be a member in that tracker
that's what staff members should be
peoplelike the fox, musca, vidde, brandon and the rest over fsc, ftn,nb,czone, darkside, its, ipt
not those who disabled accounts for donations or the bunch that disabled accounts to feel they are gods and in control.
come on have some courtesy for god sake and learn from retro

this thing does not apply on all major sites m there are sites like BitmTV with " angry young man " type staff ,
it is good to keep log on to ur account even if u r away from home or office , u can use net cafe for this purpose but only that person will do all that hassle if account is important for him

i was disabled from x264.eu , since its not a 0day tracker i dont need to use the site frequently . i can understand if you are disabled for inactivity from a 0day tracker but specialised trackers like these should give the users a second chance or something similar.

what pisses me off is that i seeded everything i have downloaded from that site for atleast 6 months

I havent read all the comments from Page 1 but i think the mininum days for unparked account should be 2 months and for Parked account must be 4 months..

Although it sounds too long but for someone who cannot access it frequently.. Its a decent buffer..

I think its good because prevents collectors stay on tracker

yayyyyyy
03-11-2008, 12:31 PM
Yeah... inactivity pruning sucks... a lot of ppl download just 100k each month and log in every week just to keep the accounts active...

it should be more stricter... like hdbits does: ban who NOT DOWNLOAD ENOUGH in a very short timeframe to make place for ppl that are going to REALLY use that account :P

nah the collectors will enter once in a while to make sure the account is safe.
what about the power user accounts these accounts should get longer period of time like 4 months or 3 not 42 days.

I agree with inactivity pruning... if you don't use it, you don't need it
