I tried to post this question on another thread (something about cheating for ratio) but I didn't get the answer I was looking for.

How can I speed up my upload? I'm using uTorrent 1.7.7 and I have opened a port on my modem's firewall. I can download things mostly at a decent speed (I only have 1mb 'cause of the awful internet service on my country) but the upload... It's waaaaaay too shitty.

So, any help on how can I speed things up? Something like, disbaling firewalls or configuring something... (yeah, pretty newbie here)

Please help!

Try writing your system specifications as well. I will be easier for people to guide you in the right direction.

What kind of router/modem
Firewall
Other Security software
Do you use other file sharing software as well?
etc.

Also try a speedtest on speedtest.net, when not running any filesharing software.
What speed are you getting from the test?
What speed are you getting in your client?

Just provide as much info as possible.

some trackers allow partial parts downloading n seeding , means u can download only 2 or 3 parts depending on the size of torrent , and seed back them like hell ,
second option is choose that torrent which is popular at its begining , and keep on seeding it for a while ...

Router: Zwire 2700HG Gateway
SpeedTest: 872 kb/s download - 102 kb/s upload
McAfee antivirus
No, I don't use any other software.
The maximum speed numer I get at the client is 10 kb/s (very really shitty)

Thanks in advance for the help.

Have you tried checking if your ISP uses trafficshaping. Try typing the name of it + shaping or blocks or "slow upload" into Google, because if speeds never get above that then this is the most likely cause.
