Ok...a 80GB hard drive 7200 RPMs cost like 80 bux...or a 18GB hard drive 10000 RPMs cost like 150...wtf ...why does it make SUCH a difference??

its the speed the discs spin.. 7200rpm is revolutions per minute the faster they spin the quicker the transfer of data

10,000 is faster. Usually scsi drives are that fast not IDE.

One word --- SPEED.

Revolutions Per Minute.

Faster rotation means faster data transfer speed. Better performance.

Didn't you just post this a while back: A few hours ago? Quote by bigdawgfoxx himself <_<
I wouldnt buy RAID or SCIS or whatever...i mean it spins faster..big deal and its smaller and WAY to much money..i like ata or w/e...get a good 80 or 120 GB one for cheap!

You seemed to know what you were talking about there. Why are you asking a question to which you have the knowledge already?

Fox, alot of people buy those drives for server's. U can't have a page load fast if your running a slow hard drive with your stuff on it that people have to pull info from.

And others, are people who just wanna buy expesnive shit, and brag about 15k 36GB drives in their sigs.
