They are like a brazillion times better than anything else. Faster, normally max out your connection, no ratio nonsense loads of good stuff.

You can download Grabit (http://www.shemes.com/) for free and use that. You can then go to an NZB site (there's one here) and just clicky to get the files.

I also use http://nzbmatrix.com/nzb.php and http://www.nzbsrus.com/ to dowload stuff.

I can tell you the settings you need to put into Grabit to let it download these files using the NZB files.

You just need to tell it the address of the server you want to use and the port you want to use. That's it nowadays. Then you just click on the nzb file and it does the rest.

I use newsleecher myself coz I think it's better but Grabit is easier to get for free.

Honest it's a piece of pish, so much so I suspect the rod.

Like what?
What's the retention?

Mr JP Fugley
03-17-2008, 10:16 PM
Like boneless, all the tv stuffs, all the multimedia stuffs, every nzb I have tried works. It was really a bit limited before but I think they are using it as their next selling point. That allied to the "optical fibre" internets.

I've never really concerned myself with retention. If you check it every few days and download what you want it's not an issue.

I've been using Grabit. I likes it, like.

I've read that you can get near-max speeds but I only get about a quarter of my bandwidth. I have an 8 meg connection and I only get about 170kb/s on average (which I'm happy about).

Am I doing something wrong? I'm on about Grabit, like, not the moral implications of stealing stuffs.

Something Else

On newsleecher I have 10 simultaneous.

What the fuck is that all about then. My connection has Spina bifida. :(

I think it's quite cool.

Hypothetical conversation

Virgin - Hoi JP, stop downloading stuff off the interwebs and doing it dead fastly.

Me - But it's a service you are providing me, on your servers.

Virgin - Fuck sake, he's right enough. Sorry about that, mate.

Me - NP multinational mate, we all make mistakes.

I'm loving it, like.

I never get this consistently good speeds. I'm still a bit bawa but I is currently stealing Star Wars: Empire At War at 200kb/s.

Mr JP Fugley
03-18-2008, 10:23 PM
Would you be annoyed that I get perturbed when Virgin limit my speed to 550 KB/s which they do sometimes. I can get 1.25 MB/s when they don't throttle it.

There's some pish about limiting it when you've downloaded like a brazillion GB in a day or something else.

ewe're obviously on the posh interweb package, like. My internets get capped after downloading 750mb.

I think it's supposed to go down to 2mb but it hactually runs a lot slower, loiyke 20KB/s max download.

I would phone up and complain but they'd probably be like "well stop stealing things then, cawk" and I'd be all like ":whatevar:" and it wouldn't get anywhere. true story.

Mr JP Fugley
03-18-2008, 10:45 PM
Have you tried re-booting when it does that. I find that increases the download speed. True story. It works almost all of the time.

And also, to be fair, in addition to downloading just now I have 5 other PCs connected to the interwebs and working. To say nothing of the 2 PS3s which are probly either online gaming or doing something else.

Oh and yes I have Virgin's max package.

Proper Bo
03-18-2008, 11:34 PM
I've tried rebooting it but it seems to do feck all, like.

I should be on 10mb interweb soon, like, once they've finished the upgrades. I read on the internets that it should be in the next couple of months:smilie4:
