Hey, I have noticed that the 28" monitor is on the market, seems pretty cool:

Do you have one, will it be good for gaming?? Will this monitor have any special requirements for the computer system?

bigger the screen, the higher the gfx card requirement to produce the same fps. it's not like gfx cards are ahead of games in terms of technology right now. so unless u REALLY need to look at such a big screen i'd advise against it.

I assume you mean "The higher the resolution".

also

the link says that it is refurbished. we all know that lcd monitors only have so many hours of life before they turn into pancake griddles. an lcd is not something that i would buy refurbished

For those that say a big monitor like a 28"+ is overkill wait till you use one for a month. The 19" you loved so dearly the month before will seem like an 1950's tv set.

Then again I might be biased since I mostly do photo and design work. Half-life 2 is way more fun on a bigger screen though.

Yeah I used to have a 17", but then I upgraded to a 22" and I can never go back. But there is a downside. It's getting to be a bigger pain in the ass to haul my stuff to LAN parties :D

I have a fantasy for a while now... To rip up my two MAG 19" 3:4 screen from their frame and connect them sidebyside with a wooden frame.

This will create a 32.46", 1024x2560, 3:8 screen.
As i am only using it for web browsing and office work this might be cool.

However, XP/Vista allows you to stretch any screen over the two monitors but you have to do it manually, so i will need to create a virtual desktop that will auto-stretch the screens automatically.

What do you guys think? Did i get the Math wrong? :)
Don't forget that the main cause for this is pure fun...
