The book's epilogue is certainly not loved by everyone.I think that how you view it depends on whether you wish to know what happened to the characters,or would rather imagine it yourself.
Overall though, don't you think the book was much more mature than earlier ones in the series.

The 5th, 6th may be mature, but this one & how all the people from the 1st part of the story gathered to face Vold. is a little childy, I was very annoyed when even percy & cho come 3 AM to fight vold.

I read the book...but I couldn't tell you what exactly happened. It's the same with all the Harry Potter books for me. But I do remember coming away from this one a little disappointed. J. K. Rolling, I feel, could have done so much better.

My only disappointment was that it had to end.
They're splitting book 7 into two movies so I wonder if the movies will actually be good. They always leave so many details I find so vital to the story out of the films.

I guess if you didn't like the last book, it's unfortunate that they actually take the time to properly port that over to movie.

I stopped reading after 150 pages. I've had it with Rowling. She writes these bricks with nothing in them. She is worse than Stephen King. The stories and characters in themselves are very good, but she keeps things dragging on and on and on without ever coming to the point.
The last books could have been sliced in half with no loss to the main story at all.

I rather enjoyed the Harry Potter series. :D I thought the last book pulled all the loose pieces from the earlier books together. At times some of the hardship and bickering seemed to be a bit much but I think it was needed to fill out the grown up characters in this last book. The ending I too would have rethered it have been left to my imagination rather than Rowlings. ;)
