So I recently came into a G4 Powermac 450mhz 576mb that I figured would make a great bit torrent box at home. Boy was I wrong it seems there are no good clients for my use on this mac as I tend to seed everything till I need more hd space (have a dedicated 500GB drive just for torrents)

Anyone else realizing this?

I use Azureus on my G4, I don't really have that many problems. The only difference is that I have 1GB of RAM and I quite possibly don't have as many torrents running.

You could always try Transmission. It's more light-weight.

You could also check out options to upgrade your computer. It's not too expensive to upgrade the processor and/or memory.

Yes but for a mac it should work perfect for just a torrent box my point was that there are not really good options like utorrent on the mac

with this system transmission is your only option. it requires 10.4 or later. 10.5 or later is strongly recommended.

if you have an older os, forget about it.
