what does the ideal tracker have in your eyes?

I was thinking of starting the 'perfect' private tracker and would like input on what would be the 'perfect' tracker for you all.

a great design, a niche that has demand, and some exclusive/popular packs supported by the trackers seedboxes.

if you have all those 3 things i'd put my money on your site doing well. of course, you'd have to spend time/money on the design and the seedboxes, so it wouldn't be at no cost

If you're actually looking for advice then theres 2 ways to go, make a huge site with tons of members and a broad content base.

Or...

A small but specialized tracker with good moderation and content. What area you want to go into is up to you. 0-day is probably the most competitive.

as in no ratios you mean just upload recorded?

slimdogp, I thought that as well, but I'm trying to get in contact with a friend of mine and he has scene access since he was involved with the scene for years(possibly still is..). So if I can get his help, I'll have a good jump :)

There are several almost-ideal trackers for me already.
I could say that if one of those sites just remove user classes and all user have the same rights and obligations (except uploaders and staff, of course) it would be the perfection itself.

Of course, as always happens, this is another infallible theory long time analyzed and studied for me that in less than 3 seconds it will be chopped and smashed, with more than 200 demonstrated problems by the first person that read it. :cry:

Tracker, requests & offers = uploads, so if I can upload what I have when I want without having to be an "uploader" for which I do not wish to compete with the kiddie racer crew, I just wish to upload in my own time at my own pace what I get, obviously not duplicating anything ofc, then providing we get a bunch of us on the same wavelength the tracker would rock.

plus first impressions last.content comes second along with a friendly community and a good helpful staff.

To me, Demonoid was the best tracker(may come back) i've ever had the privilege to be in, to this day no torrent site(barring content specific trackers) comes close to it, both in terms of content and community.
So if you wanna model your site based on a great tracker i'd say model it based on Demonoid(i know this is a herculean task but still).

The content is most important for me, preferably a dedicated tracker. 0day ones are too broad without a focus, trackers like BitMe has great content because they are focused.

hi chewy i rmbr you making a few posts a little while bak, the perfect tracker would be where the layout of the page is easy to navigate, fast speeds, 20, 000 users maz to create more of a community, very gud pre-times and torrents being seeded for a long time so they last long.

that would make an awesome tracker, A scene tracker which allows some non scene stuff, esp movies.

Everyone can upload but the content would have to be moderated to avoid bad files. Imagine a tracker where you can get scene and non scene with unlimited content :)

Modern, relaxing design. Has a forgiving ratio system that even staying connected to a torrent for a certain period of hours (seeding, even without actually uploading) builds up your ratio to 1:1 (good for cases when there aren't many leechers, or when snatching old torrents). Exclusive (console and PC games) packs are also welcome.

thats why I said similar :p, not gonna be exactly like FTN since I've noticed the speeds arent as great compared to other trackers, but good for people with low upload speeds.
