Japan to outlaw possession of child porn

Japan is to bow to international pressure and ban the possession of child pornography, although the new law is expected to anger child welfare groups by exempting manga comics and animated films.

Currently, Japan and Russia are the only G8 countries in which it is still legal to own pornographic images of children provided they do not intend to sell them or post them on the internet.

Japan is one of the world's biggest suppliers of child pornography and the second biggest consumer, despite a 1999 law that banned the production, sale and distribution of images of children under 18.

"Unlike some people in adult pornography, children are not willing or paid participants. The majority of images and videos depict the violent and brutal sexual assault of children, most of them younger than 12 years old. We are talking about child rape."

Well if your child was Niponese you might just care Mister!

Seriously though, I don't think fabricating pictures of child porn should be illegal. Distributing them, yes, because it's encouraging social acceptance of paedophilia, but what individuals do with Photoshop and a PC in the privacy of their own home is their business.

So your ok with your next door neighbour looking at child porn? What if you had a kid? I sure as hell would have a huge problem with that.

Yeah pretty much I wouldn't have a problem with it as long as the images were created and not of an actual child. Why would looking at such images automatically be a risk to a child?

Eventually they'll want the real thing? Its a crime sexual in nature.

I'm not sure anymore if this is just something ignored or the Japs here are protecting something they want.

So there's a guy jerking off to pics of children next door while your 4 year old is watching tv. This is OK?

You are fucked up. I know there's a rule about personal attacks but you really are fucked up. I'm surprised that this is coming from a Brit or maybe a Japanese Brit.

Submission, no one gives a flying fuck about your insane personal issues with Japan. It is, however, a tradition here to throw humourless trolls titbits to keep them coming back.

This is like saying that everyone who plays FPS games eventually will want to go outside in the street and gun down their neighbours

unfortunately Biggles, there is no rational argument to counter fanaticism, and I think this particular troll enjoys the notoriety, all we can hope for is something suitably poetic, like all his japanese semiconductor chips going on strike leaving him to protest with a spray can or smoke signals :whistling

Sex and killing are not the same.

Perfectly true

Sex is an act affection between two consenting adults whereas killing is something else.

There should be a lot more computer games about sex and far fewer about killing non? :shifty:

knew he would bite though :yup:
