Music Editor/mixer

I am looking for a program that I can use to mix pieces of MP3 files together.

Fruity Loops is a professional program, but it isn't capable of MP3 input as far as I know. I want a similar program that can handle MP3.

Cool edit pro can handle mp3's, I only use it for editing, so I don't know if it is any good for mixing.

MP3DirectCut (http://www.rz.uni-frankfurt.de/~pesch/) does multiple cuts and fades. You can remove parts, change the volume, split files or copy regions to new files. All without the need to decompress your MP3
