I suppose amputation is a little too permanent, huh?
Well, what I do in such cases, is take a hammer. (preferably a 3 pound one)
Clear the table of all unnecessary objects.
Put a piece of hard wood between your teeth.
Put your thumb on the edge of the table.
Slam it with the hammer. HARD!

Your nutsack will still be hot, but you sure as hell won't give a damn about it anymore. :-"
