You are suffering from pendanticism; Skizo, basically..that means you are spending too much time in the Lounge, rubbing shoulders with JPaul. :yup:

Perhaps he thought you were a piece of amber and wanted to (re)charge you with static electricity?

if u want a isp, i am on bethere and reccomend them highly :P. i get 1.3mb upload as promised and live 900m from exchange i think, and sync at 16-7000kbps. very trustworthy im not sure abotu the spying software :S not heard nething of that. good value for money only £18. unlimited* with FUP, which im sure u wont pass, nothing happend to me after using 400+gb traffic for one month :P.

I'm with o2 (service to them is provided by be) living about a mile and a half from the exchange and connect at 8Mb all the time.
Service doesn't drop often at all, there's no cap and I only pay £7.50/month for it since my mobile contract is with them (£12.50/month if you aren't).
With the service being so cheap, premium newsgroup services are all the more attractive; less than the cost of a seedbox and no ratio worries.
