waaaaay more expensive than cats, and you can't throw a baby out the door when it pisses you off............... well you can but child protection services would be on your ass in a flash

I see Samx4 has voted in favour. Is there something you want to tell us KittyB :shifty:

My youngest baby is 18 in a few weeks so I didn't actually vote but all things considered I would give them a thumbs up (except when she is wanting ne to buy stuff then i am not so sure). The poll perhaps should have had a "been there, done that, recommend it" (or not as the case may be) option for old codgers.

Thank you for your kind words. Manker, Barbie JP etc., will give me a reality slap later.

I confess to being something at a loss for suitable advice for a world wide catastrophe. Generally the best advice for catastrophes is to be somewhere else when they happen.

Assuming that the world is not going to end - which is a good working assumption - I would suggest that at 21 you are just entering the most critical phase of your life. You need to take decisions that point you in the direction you want to go. If you have no idea what you want to do or where you are going then you will drift. Drifting is a choice too and some people enjoy that option but if you do this then do it in a positive way. Drifting in warm, sun drenched waters with a moderate supply of life's necessities is the way to go.

I was 31 when my first was born and that felt plenty early enough - you have loads of time to consider, re-consider and consider that one again. I suggest better chat up lines if you are intending to go down this route though.

Seriously..I love my children. They're great. If you feel you're ready emotionally and financially, then go for it.

If not... do something else.

One day I'd like them but now is not a good time. Husband doesn't want them and comes out in a cold sweat at the mention, and I'm still saving for a mortgage. I estimate it will happen in 2-5 years, body and husband permitting.

Of course not. Our children are our flesh and souls. I'm sure most fathers feel that way. I pray that we also act accordingly.

It's simple - really.
