Looks nice, clean design. I like that it organizes all the albums available from each artist. Seems like a great effort so far.

P.S. Now we just need something similar to OinkPlus made compatible with Gazelle (Gazelle Plus? - imaginative I know, lol) so I can listen to a band via embedded MySpace player before downloading and get similar artists info.

all my torrents are red and when i try to redownload them i get an error. "sever unable to find requested url" 50+ torrents to redownload and it wont even let me. i hope i dont have to reupload them. i just refreshed one of my torrent pages and all the site says is "brb" in the top left hand corner. im really not liking the way gazelle is working out. i was really liking what over waffles but this litlle change has made me lean towards waffles. hopefully all the bugs can be ironned out soon

Good news, I just realized there was a new Waffles theme and some new features there and now Gazelle is launching. :D

I can't see any good thing about gazelle apart from the site layout...Am really not impressed with what.cd. They made a big change without even considering user security...The tracker is not even https. I firmly suggest tat waffles is much, i mean much more better.

everybody just chill...look at the forum post in the what.cd topic. Torrents don't download, the tracker is offline, the torrents are even registered, top 10 doesnt work, and search doesn't work.

seems like a very big mistake to roll it out onto the main site, with so many bugs, errors, and shortcomings. it should have remained in alpha for a few more months. there's not even the ability to comment on torrents :frusty: looks like they would have coded that into it from the start.

well the thing is that some of the major bugs are caused by the transition and not by flaws in the code. the reason for this is because the announce url has changed. actually i am in favor for the decision to launch gazelle at this time. it will probably take a day or two for things to start moving, and the lack of the ability to comment on torrents and other features isn't a reason to delay the launch imo.

yeah a delay wouldn't necessarily make the project immune to all these problems which creep up during transition. better now than later anyway. imo though, they shoulda withheld on the ratiowatch. the clock's ticking, and users have no means of pulling up their ratio.

For those who asked what gazelle is, it is an entirely new source code written by the admins at what.cd. Hopefully it will become an alternative to TBsource, the horribly broken, slow, featureless source most torrent sites use :S

Tracker is online. And with the Dark stylesheet, I think it looks really nice. This is the same sheet I used on What and still use on Waffles. It makes the site sleek looking.

I like the new stylesheets (Shiro's my favorite) and site is a lot faster that before. Still a lot to work regarding some aspects of the site but overall a successful launch of Gazelle, imo. :D

What bothers me the most about gazelle, is the fact that there are no genres in the browse category! It's impossible to find new music of your favourite genre! Tags are good, don't get me wrong, but they are subjective! For example, one guy had tagged his Santana upload as Santana music!!! WTF!

i just uploaded a torrent and it went through and says ok you must now download the new torrent to seed it... i'm like ok click on the link... woops there's nothing there can't download it... guess i have to wait an hour for it to be processed ?? sweet . .. .

As you guys say, the problems are many... As for the user classes, they have changed significantly! You have to upload your own stuff to achieve higher user classes!

Seeing as all old torrents have a tag that equals the previous category they were in, the search feature is still useable. There is great potential in tags but it will take some time until the system will become useful.

I have to say it's great to see such an individual development project in the torrenting world. Well executed idea both backend and aesthetically. When the tracker settles down (ie: less downtime due to the bumpy tweaing period) this should be one of the most successful torrent projects yet.

I think my favourite feature is the grouping/expandable list of similar releases with different encodes.

if you meet the new requirements for power user but still got demoted, you should contact someone from staff. i heard some people were wrongly demoted due to a bug.

what I see is that I have 20 or so torrents per browse page and cannot change that in profile...

and what pissed me off the most, even before gazelle, even on waffles as well, is that the torrents you have downloaded havent been marked somehow, which is pretty important thing on music tracker where you download hunderds of files and dont know what you have and what havent downloaded so far...
I always have to check on my hard drive when I want to download something new and how I love to do that...

and on general torrent sites it isnt needed...
but on music sites I think it could be bloody usefull.. but that feature would have to be implemented from the beggining or otherwise whats the point...

too many new features @ one time. obviously a lot of work has gone into this project and my hat is off to them for it, but i don't even like using the site anymore... :unsure:



EDIT: of course i'm starting to like it more already and all great new things take time to get used to...

but it does need something to get things kicking again and a freeleech may be a good idea...? :lol:
