this is a very good album software
and it also has plenty of stuff to edit your photos

I second picasa. I use it all the time to make web albums I can share with family and friends. What's nice about it is the slide show feature, which shows large images. They can save the original file (if you upload it that way) or an optimized (~1600x1200) version of your image. Good stuff.
