Has died.

The radio wont be the same without him.

I don't expect many of you noobs to understand my sentiments but he was fab.

And, damnit, he wasn't even on my dead list.

Humphrey Lyttelton was old school genious. We won't see his like again, they are quite literally a dying breed.

For some reason I always thought it was ' Recquiem in pace'. Is it merely the difference between present tense and subjunctive future?

He had a face for radio.

RIP and stuff.

Got any favourite excerpts and stuff you'd like to share, like?

I'd never herd of him or owt.

Listen to any of "I'm sorry I haven't a clue" on the BBC website. It's a panel game on BBC Radio 4.

He had the gift of getting away with being absolutely filthy on daytime radio by being good humoured and tongue in cheek.

I don't know, that's just the way I learned it, for singing hymns in Latin.

Actually I think I may have made a mistake anyway. Requiescant in Pace may refer to the plural, as in may they rest in peace. I think the singular might be Requiescat in pace (without the "n") I'm not sure though.

The temptation to post 'I'm sorry I haven't a clue who you're talking about' was just too great to resist.

RIP Humf, you jazz legend you.
