the guy that came out to fix it remembered me from when i had my shitty little yellow car, turns out it was the crank position sensor - needs replacing, which should be covered :01:

Glad to hear it was just a sensor Mulder. Modern cars are festooned with the things. Mine was running like a pig because the oxygen sensor was fuxorised. At least most of the sensors only take a few minutes to replace :01:

i did, but some of it escaped when i took the cap off - took me ages to chase the exact particals and push them back in.

That would make for some dull observations. :blink: Gee they started the car, went to work, car sat in parking garage for many hours, and finally car went home for a long rest :whistling even the sensor must have gotten bored and went out :naughty:

I can commiserate mr mulder, having a non car week myself, with one sulking from exactly the same malady. The crank sensor has left the building, its a $60 part here with $400 worth of labour to fit it........thieves:angry::angry::angry:

My car broke down last week, it needs a new head gasket which is going to cost $1300. I'm gonna scrap the car and go buy a Hyosung GT250R motorbike.:D
