Annoying Messages

i keep getting the weird messages from a thing that says messenger service at the top of the window every 10 min. than it tells me to go to the site or something do stop pop ups...what should i do

You should learn more about securing an OS before you go back on line. That's what you should do.

Start--control panel--administative tools--services--double click messenger then under status select disable.
That should do the trick.
