Some of you might get angry over this statement but what.cd replaced oink and is even better.

The new 'Gazelle' system is just flawless and so easy to use, they also did a great job keeping the quality stuff ( EAC Logs, FLACs, etc ).

why do u think that whatcd have replaced oink in the first place?

every tracker should have own history and specials....if Oink havent gone we probably would never see whatcd or waffles or whateverysite like that type..

I was one that wanted only ONE tracker. I have manged to change my mind at least 4 times between what and waffes lol and which one is superior.

I LOVE Gazelle since I've gotten used to it.
I wish every specialized tracker that COULD use it, would use it.
There are some issues - but they'll be fixed,
but I just love how you can search for an artist,
and typically you only get 1-2 pages of search results.
On Waffles, since all 320, 192, V0, V2, FLAC torrents are seperate, it adds a hell of a lot of pages to look through to find something.

Plus the whole Wikipedia-like info - everyone can add album art/pictures/bio. <3

When What.CD launched, I made a suggestion in the forums - not make What just like OiNK (which was what everyone wanted), but to try to use what OiNK had that was so good, and try to make it even better and they exceeded any of my expectations. Waffles is fading in my eyes - it was my favorite out of the two for a long time. It just seems messy to me now.

I will always appreciate OiNK, there was nothing like it. But What.CD is becoming the new irreplaceable for me.

However, it STILL pisses me off that it costs 100MB to make a request now though. 100MB is A LOT on a music tracker, it's about the equivalent to a MP3 320 album, a little more. I don't think you should have to pay for making a request and if you do, it should be like 20MB-50MB at most.

NTorrents is gonna be switching to Gazelle soon. I reallllly look forward to that.

Gazelle is nice but maybe it's me but I haven't seen the BIG differences yet. I gather most of the power is still untapped (see 64 bit CPUs) and wait to see more.

it's going to be interesting when the code is released (if ever), to see it's strengths and weaknesses. seeing people take it in their own direction with customizations and code changes could make it a much better tracker source.

A ton of Waffles' torrents say "thanks to the original upload at What" or something along those lines. I don't think I've ever seen it the other way around.

What.cd staff did a hell of a great job with this site, a lot more seeders and leechers then waffles. Waffles failed there are less uploads, less seeders and less leechers it is lame :shifty:

Considering that the quality of the uploaded music is roughly equal (I've snatched poorly ripped albums from both trackers) and I can seed just as easily on both sites, What has more uploads, is much more organized, has nicer staff and is much more aesthetically pleasing. I have to say that I prefer using What over Waffles, but I do think that both complement each other nicely.

yeah having both of the trackers is great. i guess the content on those two is like 80% or more identical. someone here said that he saw waffles torrents with the what cd thank you lines. well i also found tons of what torrents with big thank you-s to waffles. they re like the same. oh...and the gazelle thing really sucks bigtime. it's full of bugs and i don't find it very user friendly.

As a member of both What.CD and Waffles, I prefer to use What. I'm not a Waffles hater or anything, but Gazelle has made What.CD a lot more user friendly, and it made it quicker to find what you're looking for.

Waffles is a little more cluttered. I have not used Waffles nearly as much as I've used What, but What just seems like they have a friendlier staff. It's helpful to have access to both trackers, but if I had to choose one, it would definitely be What.CD.
