My boss sent out an email today. The last five words contained a split infinitive and ended a sentence with a preposition.

I did a "reply all" and pointed this out. I felt it was the only way to go.

You did, makes it all worthwhile for me.

Just do what biggy does and hide under the desk whenever anyone approaches, and never ever answer an e-mail. If you draw attention to yourself people will expect you to work.

JPaul
05-20-2008, 10:12 PM
Who is "biggy".

CrabGirl
05-20-2008, 10:32 PM
That would of course, be mulder.

Squeamous

I meant Biggles!

CrabGirl

You've seen pictures of Biggles's cock too?

Now I am shocked.

Squeamous
05-20-2008, 10:36 PM
Unfortunately when I was little my parents used to call faeces 'biggies', so Biggles now reminds me of shit.

Why does Les hide under a desk, that seems unlikely.

CrabGirl
05-20-2008, 10:45 PM
Why?

I hide under my desk sometimes. My boss gets annoyed as she says the whimpering disturbs her.

JPaul
05-20-2008, 10:47 PM
Les is a bloke tho'.

Squeamous

He doesn't really Mr Literal.....I said he did for the purposes of humour. Although, metaphorically speaking I bet his mind is under the desk for most of the day if not his body.

Don't be a Lonely Leslie, join in. I feel sure you have a penis, and I bet you have a camera.....you might as well. I'm not allowed to look though so you'll have to show CG and she can describe it to me.

My da sometimes refers to my mum as something that can be directly translated as "the boss". True story.

Also, I wasn't sure you really did have a job.

Also, I'd have thunk you were self-employed, like, you having a boss made me go  for some reason.

JPaul
05-20-2008, 11:17 PM
It wasn't actually my boss, I made that bit up for effect.

True Story.

You people always pointing out my spelling mistakes "when in fact they are just typos" Well you just misspelled FECES and I think you are one that has pounced on me for this.

You from the U.S. old geezer, where they lop off letters from the english language because they are to lazy to write them? The original english spelling is 'faeces', yet another word that has been abridged look on any online dictionary like this http://www.thefreedictionary.com/faeces

Dude you're killing it for us. OK there are two acceptable ways to spell it one is the older ( not saying right) just older. Language like everything else evolves. Don't get me wrong JP is a pain in the ass when it comes to grammar and spelling. Loves to point out flaws in others eh but he's my homeboy now now to mention my Uncles ass buddy(pretty sure he's the bitch) Also Geezey why do you always say some shit to make us look bad?

This is the original English. It'll be a cold day in hell when an American corrects my spelling.

The English language is evolving all the time because it is a living language.

Move with the times, or move out :dabs:

It's in the opening post FFS.

The last five words contained a split infinitive and ended a sentence with a preposition.

It really was my boss btw, I was joking when I said it wasn't

I didn't do the "reply all" tho', I just thought about it.

I'll try to remember and check tomorrow, write it down and get back to you.
