It's been a few day that SCC has been down on my part.
I asked around and it seemed that it has not affected any other members.

On uTorrent all the files I'm seeding on SCC they are red,Tracker status: "hostname not found".
Plus I can't access the site. Firefox alerts me that the server is not found.

This worries me.

I used a free proxy site (btunnel.com) to check if it was my ISP blocking me access to SCC.
It worked I could see the site! Could it be? I don't understand how that could be possible!
Can ISP's single out such sites?

My internet provider is Bell Canada.

If anyone has any suggestions feel free to respond.

Much thanks.

Your ISP can do that, but it's also likely that SCC is blocking you or something.
You can ask a friend living closeby with another ISP to try?

Yes I can. I'll go over after work to see.
I'll see if my friend is experiencing the same problem as me.

The thing is trough the proxy I can browse the site without any problem...
It says that I am not seeding or downloading anything on the site.
Thing is I have uTorrent open...
This sucks.

Sharefile4 do you live in Canada? Who is your internet provider?
Just checking to see if Canada is banned from SCC.

Kickass, it worked! How is it that it works now?
I could view the site without the help of a proxy site!
Now the problem with uTorrent, did it happen to you to as well? If,so how did you solve it?

i have no problems accessing it... looks like your having a DNS issue...

put the hostname / IP in your "hosts" file ... its under /windows/system32/drivers/etc/hosts

Raban, can you tell me a more detailed way to do that?
I reached all the way to where you indicated but I can open the file "hosts". Windows prompts me to open it but first I have to choose with what.

oh, the same as when you wanted to use the site.
I get it.
Thank you so much for the info. It was starting to get to me.
Could this be related to their server change?
These little ticks? I mean we can't be the only ones this is happening to.

Edit:
I entered the IP of SCC instead of the usual SCC. The tracker status is better than it was, not it has gone from "hostname not found" to "connection closed by peer". The icon in uTorrent still remains red. Can't seem to download or upload, not even to seed.

1st clear ur scc cookies
TRY https: and reset your passkey add that new passkey 2 all your torrents and you will see a nices green light, that's if i am right...

P.S with me Tracker up, Site up and both https + http are working fine.

You open and edit it with notepad.

I use open DNS which can help avoid these issues as my ISP is shit at updating their DNS servers.

Very handy site Sear!
Just a question, what IP do I enter in the field?
Do I just type in the one showed in the tutorial?

if you're having a dns issue then manually set the dns on your comp (or router for your whole network) to something like 4.2.2.2 and that should fix it ^_^

Thank you all for guiding me through this. I appreciate it very much.
I can finally access the site and seed/leech just fine now.
kickass, Raban, jam0980tr, sear and DanielleD87 you've all succeeded in giving me a hand. If you all ever need any help, I will try with the abilities at my reach to help you in kind if not more.

Have a nice day all!
