I have never asked any of my invitees for anything, so your statement is not entirely true.

With my invites I'll invite people who I've gotten to know closely, or users who I know are good people with good intent from reading their posts over time. By stranger I meant someone who you don't know, not everybody on the internet who you haven't met face to face..
