for the last 30 or so days my upload speed has risen 6 times the normal speed (see screens). is anyone else gaining these speeds on comcast?

Comcast just double the upstream speed for customers last week. 6x increase? I guess thats possible in your area.

Speed tests for comast used to be high because of the 'speedbost' thing where it would upload very fast for the first few MB, then even out. But now those speeds should be accurate, mine speedtests out at about 2mbit as well

There are two tiers (in most areas.. it does vary). The users who used to get 45kB/s, now get 90. And the users who used to get 90kB/s, now get about 200 (more or less sometimes, mine has been steady 250 a few times).

I have Comcast, and I used to get 30000 kbps down, and 2000 up, but now I get 4000 down, and 2000 up -_-

hmm it seems things are getting less and less uniform

I still get 8000 down, but now 2000 up instead of 768

Hrm, I'm still cap'd at 80kb/s... Did you guys reboot your modems? Perhaps my area just hasn't been 'upgraded' yet...

tokeman no i didn't, but i've had several short outages, during which of course my modem cycles. I did read somewhere you have to reset modem to get the new speeds.

Reset the modem, but can't tell much. Improved speeds but it may just be the speed boost thing. Anyone know a good upload speed test that is longer, or one that you run till you just want to stop?

Hop on a new torrent at TL or something and set your upload slots to like 9

That should give you accurate max out

Had 80kb/s cap before, now i'm upping steady at 260. Not sure if thats my limit, but I'd be happy with it.

ya mine was 80-90 before (it would burst to 200 sometimes with the speedboost) Now mine is around 250 as well, if i'm in a large swarm, and connected to the right peers.

The sandvine is still in place, which causes random discos with peers, and some peers in Europe I only have like 50kB worth of routing to. But like I said, overall in a large swarm or through multiple torrents, mine is 200-250 as well :)

Which is sweet! Way better than before.

Get AT&T or Earthlink or Verizon for better Upload speed [ 600 - 1 Mbps]
