I'm pretty sure that's how it is. I've been a member for about a month, and don't have a premium account, and have no invites.

Is newzbin completely closed to new accounts, even with an invite? A few days ago i saw a place to sign up for invites only but now I don't see any way to sign up as a new user - even with an invite. Or is there a special link you get?

Newzbin is an Indexing site for NZB files. It lists every say album, movie, game, whatever as an NZB file and uploads it to one of these sites, such as Newzbin. If someone wants to download something, they download the NZB file, open it up in their newsreader, and it downloads the file list. Pretty neat, huh ;)

The official line is that it's a feature requested by it's users as a preventative measure.

What is the fascination with Newzbin as opposed to any other NZB indexer (i.e. Newzleecher) though?

I don't understand why Newzbin is invite-only and has this cloaked atmosphere about it...

Someone please enlighten what more you get by joining up with them that you can't get with any other *free* NZB search engine.

Should be forbidden to make a thread about newzbin whatever the topic is. It always just ends up in IDIOTS spamming the thread with invite requests.

As for the invites go, after a certain length of time, you get invites.
I am not too sure about exact length, but I know its +4 weeks.

Does everyone know just because you get invited doesn't mean you get in? You can only browse their listing you cannot download 1 single file until you pay for a monthly service charge.

I've been trying to get in for awhile. I know there are better (and free) options out there, but I would like to use Newzbin to add stuff on the fly when i'm not home. My iPhone app allows me to do it via SabNZBd+
