The update file is ready. You can update your build to the latest build RC18 by using KLUpdate.

Here are some things that I need

1. Some good icons for buttons, the main program, etc..
2. Mirrors to host the downloads
3. People to maintain the servers when new builds are out.
4. A good logo to replace top white banner that you see in KLUpdate.

If you can help me with any of these, please let me know. There is a separate utility to produce update files. I will give it to everyone who hosts a mirror server. Mirrors should be some personal server, not any free servers please.

The new build now starts fine here.

In the step where the user selects the files to download, it would be nice a menu for Select All / Select None / Invert or at least a button for select all, and put check mark by default in all the files.

Just curious: Are you using a pseudo-random server selection, to prevent overload on a single server? I already implemented it in the BadIpUpdater, using the clock as random feeder, so if the source list have 5 alternative servers, it can start with any of the 5 servers, and if the selected one fails, select randomly another one.

Great now it starts right up, but now it wants to download files i already have. Also i got the latest bad ip updater and it want me to download the old one.

Ok i tested it out no matter how many times you run it and update. It want you to update "DadIpUpdater Configuration File," "KazaaHelpFiles," and "BadIpRanges."

if there is bad communication, the program freezes.

1- the initial server list should have the focus.
2- the Next button should have the "Default" property (select with Enter and with N).
3- the top white banner would look nicer if the borders were flat, not 3d/inset.
4- consider the use of shdocvw.dll (MSIE) for the display of What's New and License Agreement. This will let you use bold and styles in future versions.
5- consider the use of the same icon in kazaa lite installer, just to conserve the style and make it look like part of kazaa lite.
6- the descriptions should include version number.

for the rest, the program looks very good.

the supertrick.txt is downloading in Unix format (lines delimited by LF-only), instead of DOS format (lines delimited by CRLF).

this causes that the UpdateHOSTS don't recognize the single lines.

Okay, here are a few things that you need to know...

For all those of you who get garbled up descriptions, redownload KLUpdate 1.0.0 Build 2. I had updated build 2, when I realized this problem. So I corrected it, and reuploaded it (But as build 2 only). This was a very short gap, but some people seem to have downloaded it in that time.

Next, the CRLF problems are actually with the server. I upload the files normally, but the server converts #13#10 to #13 or #10 only. Thats UNIX for you! LOL!

Okay and finally, the download is just a test, and is intended for webmasters. The descriptions, version numbers, etc.. that you see are only in the download file. Everything can be changed on the server. So if you want version numbers, or better descriptions, you can do that while generating the update file. If anyone plans to host files for update, then you can contact me for better details.

Also, the license that is displayed and the whats new are just imaginary (I simply copied them of the old Kazaa Lite 2.1.1 installer.)

Is someone ready to be the host for the updates? there is one big advantage, that it will reduce the bandwidth used. People will download only those files that have changed/added. So no need to download the whole package.

try uploading the text file as BINARY instead of as ASCII. In FTP use BIN command.

LF delimiter is called in UltraEdit32 "Unix/Mac format", CRLF delimiter is called "DOS format".

@Aldo: Uploading text as binary wont help. What I am doing is converting those LF to CRLF after downloading in the next build. Of course, its only done for those file that need it, no all.

Well, for those of you who would host the files on your server, here goes:

First of all I will send you a small tool which would help you to generate the update file. That done, you have to do nothing else. Its silly easy. But one thing to be kept in mind is that you have to generate that file everytime a new update is available. You can choose to update it only when final versions are released, or even for test builds too.

tanx link worked at last but..
have another problem when i run it at "select mirror" window when i select 1 and i click next it take too much time to d/l and it stucks there i think its becuz of mirror site mybe its offline

Anyone know what the status is with KLUpdate?
After the discontinuation of KLUpdate was mentioned, I could still run the KLUpdate and it would show rc18 as being the current build even after 2.4.2 final was out. Now I&#39;ve noticed that it has a message saying I have the latest version of K++.
So I&#39;m just wondering if KLUpdate is back working again or not.
Personally I think it is an awsome add-on, and it does an excellent job.

Hasnain, the one that made it, could not find anyone to host the files so he disccontinued it. I was looking into it trying to find some one to host it and hasnain said mabey he will bring it back when he gets a job. I dont think there will be one anytime soon becuase 2.4.3 wont be here for a while and theres no need for this without new builds.

Yeah I been checkin Hasnain&#39;s page for awhile now to see how it was goin, well couldn&#39;t for a bit till I found his new address. Well I tried to find out what was involved in being a mirror, but didn&#39;t get any answers.
But yeah, like you mentioned, I guess there is some time as it will be awhile befor some updates start comin again. KLUpdate sure is handy with the RC&#39;s though, lol.
