YEAH I JUST READ ABOUT IT. MOFO AWESOME!!!!!!!!

PARIS, France – June 28, 2008 – Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. today revealed Diablo® III, the newest entry in its critically acclaimed action role-playing-game franchise. The announcement was made during the 2008 Blizzard Entertainment® Worldwide Invitational at the Porte de Versailles Convention Centre in Paris, France. A cinematic trailer and an extended gameplay demonstration with commentary from the development team introduced the game to the thousands of players in attendance.

“We’ve wanted to expand on the epic story and gameplay elements of the Diablo universe for some time now,” stated Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. “We know that players have also been long awaiting a return to the series, so we’re very excited to be sharing this announcement with Blizzard gamers here in Paris and around the world today.”

Diablo III will pick up the story twenty years after the events of Diablo II. Mephisto, Diablo, and Baal have been defeated, but the Worldstone, which once shielded the inhabitants of the world of Sanctuary from the forces of both Heaven and Hell, has been destroyed, and evil once again stirs in Tristram. Playing as a hero from one of five distinct character classes, players will acquire powerful items, spells, and abilities as they explore new and familiar areas of Sanctuary and battle hordes of demons to safeguard the world from the horrors that have arisen. The first two characters classes -- the barbarian and the witch doctor -- were shown as part of the announcement at the event today in Paris.

Diablo III will feature a custom 3D-graphics engine to render lush indoor and outdoor areas of Sanctuary with a high level of detail and vivid special effects. The game’s physics-enhanced environments will be interactive and destructible, offering traps and obstacles that create added danger for players and monsters alike. These elements, along with a new quest system and random scripted events, will be integrated into the game’s random-level generator, giving Diablo III the ultimate combination of dynamic gameplay and replayability. Cooperative and competitive play will be available online through an upgraded version of Blizzard Entertainment’s renowned online gaming service, Battle.net®.

Blizzard Entertainment is developing Diablo III for simultaneous release on the Windows® and Macintosh® PC platforms. Further information about the game, including details on the other character classes, major new features for the single-player and multiplayer components, system requirements, pricing, and availability, will be announced as development progresses. To learn more about Diablo III, please visit the official website at www.diablo3.com. With multiple games in development, Blizzard Entertainment has numerous positions currently available. if you haven't played yet, then you should, but don't forget, graphics will seem crappy as the games are old, it may make you hate the game(diablo 2 still has good graphics compared to the todays most games, it has its own characteristic imo...)

lol no diablo2's graphics are shit compared to what we have today. but that's by no means saying that it was a poor game. it was and will always be my fav game of all time. I mean, it came at the time when i was in high school and had the most time to game; I'll never be able to replicate that kinda gaming experience.

I agree with a previous poster. Don't try it if you haven't tried it before. you'll hate it, because it'll come up short of what you'll expect. Our minds have become too graphics oriented in our expectations in the gaming scene in the last few years.

YES I have been waiting for D3 for a very long time. I used to play hardcore on d2 and it was very fun...too bad for me I got trade hacked and lost a few legit SOJ. The damn hackers made me quit the game. I really hope D3 won't be the target of these tools again or it will make quite a crappy gaming experience.

As for D3, the change in graphic is immense, very impressive. It has that unique 2d kinda look but it's really 3d. I read that they are using a new engine so that's a plus. What I find disappointing is that the atmosphere is too bright on that gameplay video. I want D3 to be like D2, that is gloomy, sad, dark, evil, bloody and gothic atmosphere. That was what made diablo 2 so refreshing.

well, i meant crappy games with no soul, also if we could play diablo 2 in higher resolutions, it would seem ok i think...
and you are right, you may probably hate it, if you haven't tried yet, as today's gaming standards have changed...

Oh, don't worry. I could care less about graphics. All I give a damn about is that it's fun and entertaining to play. I still play a lot of NES on my computer :P

well, i am not curious about the game's being fun, as i trust blizzard, they are always succesfull...

what i most wonder is about game's musics, previous ones were great, and diablo3's musics are composed by eminence orchestra, i am eager to listen to them...

i'm ALWAYS the paladin in games that provide it. i can't wait to play this game. the barbarian seemed pretty cool & the witch doctor was kinda neat with all the diseases going on. can't wait to see how all the other toons look like and their abilities. looking forward to this game. maybe "this" will finally ween me off World of Warcraft. :'(

about diablo3's being too bright, i think i got the idea behind this...
when we look at blizzard's games, the ones that come out at the same or nearly time periods, they all seem alike...
warcraft 1-2, diablo 1-2 and starcraft; all look kinda dark...
and about this time, their new style is this; cartoonish and colory...

I just started playing Diablo II and I cannot believe I missed out on the game back in 2000, it's so damn fun to play. I can now see how heavily influenced Titan Quest was by the game, which is also a great game.

yeah, titan quest is just a successful clone of diablo...
there are many others which have failed to even get close to diablo...
no rpg game is as fun as diablo...
