Also I run a server which is my gateway from home, I had been running K-Lite 24/7 from the server, but although most of the posts regarding riaa are USA related I&#39;m old enough to know what starts in the USA soon comes to the UK.
Any advice on protecting myself would be appreciated. I don&#39;t want to take down my shared mp3&#39;s as many of the albums are rare and not available to buy (yep I&#39;m old)

I really wish there was an option in Kazaa to block people who arent sharing... I can cancel their uploads, but usually 5 seconds later they&#39;re back wanting the same file...

Don´t get me wrong, this is not an excuse. I share 701 files currently, so I share all that I download and have downloaded already, but this is my dad´s comp and it has only 6 GB of hard disc. It´s very slooooow and it pisses me alot. when I get internet on my own pc I´ll probably share my entire hard disk because I think it´s just screwy of others who don´t share. In dutch we´ve got a word for it and it is "matenaaier", somebody who screws his friens. It´s giving and taking or being left out of the drain, no more.

My upload is constantly between 20-30kb/s and my download is rarely over 10 and a majority of the time its close to 0kb/s

I only share about 250-300. Many of the files, expecially videos and software are not worth sharing.

The videos are overcompressed and blocky and the software is incomplete or some other software that I don&#39;t need.

After all this RIAA stuff, I removed Kaaza and don&#39;t share or download. I can&#39;t afford a lawsuit and don&#39;t need that kind of trouble right now. (who does) I will wait until this mess is cleared up. To date, the Portisphere Productions Network has been sharing a rough size of about 80Gig+10Gig more on a new drive of music, software, and movies... I will give break down though: 6001 audio files, 35 movie files (damn sizes eat up GB really fast), and at least 20 pieces of software (for back up in case). Right now the server class is offline for relocation, but soon will be back under the same configuration of broadband and max slots of 12 uploads, all updated through a queue system to ensure everyone will get in to get the file needed (or helped to a complete download). In the past, I only have two requirements for such access, no malicious acts and you must try to share (I could not stress that enough - afterall, the program was created with sharing in mind). The reason I don&#39;t leave a lot of software to be shared is because I usually uncompress it, test it and if I like it keep it. I also use Satellite which has terrible uploading bandwidth so it would be a long time to download anything from me of any size anyway. I do share all the time when I am not using my system for other things but when Kazaa is on, I am always sharing.

I share around 650 files (95% of which are mp3s); ie all I have on my computer (only 15 gigs of total hard disk space....) ;
I&#39;ve got a problem at the present time : actually trying to DL 3 movies, a few seconds after the first DL starts at opening, K++ advises me that it&#39;s gonna close because of a "non-conform operation" (i&#39;m not sure of the translation).
Should anyone help on this ? (or advise me of the best place to go on this forum to ask, i&#39;m new here)
