View Full Version : Worst Private Trackers

Slow Trackers

When downloading from a private tracker is so painfully slow that you’ll be begging to go back to mininova, then it’s time to give ‘em the slip.
Cheggit.net

I’m not sure why this popular XXX tracker is so slow, it just is. I’m even less sure why it’s so popular.
Pretome

This suspicious spinoff from FunFile isn’t without controversy, but it is lacking decent DL speeds. FunFile isn’t much better.
Demonoid

I never knew what all the fuss was about when Demonoid was so highly-esteemed before the shutdown. Still don’t see what all the huzzah is about. The relaunched Demon still provides some predictably slow DL speeds, just like before.
Tophos.org, SmokingInTheRain, DigitalHive

No matter what torrents we tried, we still can’t generate anything faster than 120 KB/s.
Trackers with Ads

I can’t speak for everyone, but I flock to private trackers to get away from the annoying ads, not because I like ‘em. Here’s a few sites that’ll make you want to go watch TV instead.
http://minitm.org

MiniTM has an (almost) unavoidable popup ad that obnoxiously floats right in the middle of the screen during signup - we managed to tread carefully around it and sign up anyways. Now - the content: You’ll need to say "thanks" before downloading any torrent. Also, it’s a private tracker that runs public torrents from ThePirateBay - we couldn’t find any real private torrents, and received the following message with all of the torrents. No thanks.

http://torrent-fu*kers.com

TF brings you full page ads when clicking the ‘browse’ link. To add insult to injury, there’s only 1 torrent on this tracker (at last check) and the site repeatedly crashes Firefox. Run Forrest, run!
http://gamingbits.org

This one kinda made me chuckle. When you sign up, your email ‘confirmation’ link sends you to a totally different website, where they certainly get money for the redirects. Pure genius, really! With an Alexa rank of 21 million, rest assured you’re not missing out on the latest games.
http://blackz.sytes.net

Ho-Hum, another site with popups in the middle of the page when browsing torrents. You have two choices: Click the ad to make it go away, or try hard to navigate around it. Oh wait, there’s a third choice - leave and go to a tracker without the annoying ads.
http://the-new-generation.net

Just when you think you’re clicking the ‘right’ X to close the ad, it pops up anyways. Great marketing technique! Lots of torrents on this German site, though (1,500).
http://www.h33t.com

H33t uses shameless popup ads, not to mention the site is entirely full of ‘em, even between the torrents. Users will need to donate to have the ads removed. I removed the ads by going elsewhere.
Low-Content Trackers

When signing up on a new unknown tracker, it’s caveat-emptor. Sometimes you hit paydirt, and other times you find the fool’s gold. It goes to show how easy it is for just about anyone to install a Torrent Tracker script on a server, and then completely neglect it. These trackers will leave you asking for more.
http://darkbitz.com

Once you jump through the hoops & hurdles to sign up, you’ll regrettably realize there’s not one single torrent on this site. Darkbitz is probably the RIAA & MPAA’s favourite tracker. Oh, and there’s full-screen popup ads to boot.
http://visualunderground.org

Nothing truly horrible to report here, aside from the fact that there’s only 69 torrents and they’re all from public sites. The last uploaded torrent was over a month ago. How’d we find this one, again?
http://www.dreamora.com

Dreamora looks promising, but the link to the torrents / tracker is dead. Don’t bother trying to complain about it in the forums, either - you won’t be able to comment or post new topics even when logged in. A torrent site without a tracker is like a car without an engine.
http://dreamers4you.org

The image ‘verification’ part of the script is broken, so you’ll not be able to signup even if you wanted to. With an Alexa rank of 28-million, we suspect there’s nothing in there anyways.
http://www.amateur-hour.net

It’s sad when a tracker becomes elitist with just 41 torrents. Must be some kick-ass stuff in there!
http://www.ireal.ro

Not too much going on here with just 31 torrents. I guess because they’re all Pr0n torrents it makes it more redeeming?
http://forestanime.com

6 torrents and 68 users!
http://torrent.mnetfmdownload.net

Not a single torrent, folks. Signed up about 4 weeks ago and it’s the same ol’ song & dance.
http://tha-tracker.net

16 registered users sharing 0 torrents. What’s going on in there?
Others…

• http://edhelas.free.fr/bit/account.php — 12 torrents. Good seed/leech ratio, though!
• http://torrent.bistrita-net.ro — 47 torrents, although they’re all 0-seed (dead) torrents.
• http://wantedfiles.ro — The name says it all. 74 torrents - most of it’s freeleech, though.
• http://bestmmatorrents.com — A grand total of 8 torrents. Don’t download ‘em all in the same day!
• http://bitracker.r-landscheidt.net — 31 torrents - all added on the same day (two years ago) - 03/09/06.
• http://bitspace.dyndns.org:6560/ — 46 torrents - one of the higher ones in the list.
• http://torrents.esgoogle.net — 84 torrents.
• http://torrents.linuxolution.org — 5 torrents.
• http://tracker.mrdummy.net — 11 torrents.
• http://tracker.allanime.org — All Anime Torrents - all 13 of them.

• http://tbook.freehostia.com — A whopping 31 torrents with 0 seeds.
• http://citytactics.net — 15 torrents - only one has a seeder.
• http://tracker.mrdummy.net — 11 torrents.
• http://www.bb-torrents.net — Couldn’t find a single torrent.
• http://www.mennirnir.com — Apparently there’s 4 torrents, but we couldn’t find ‘em.
• http://www.lench.lv — 82 torrents, almost all with just one seeder. Hopefully he’s not on dial-up.
• http://www.piloboy.de/ttrader/ — 5 torrents.
• http://shexnet.com — 4 active torrents.
• http://www.scenevets.com — 50 active torrents with 1 seeder only. Last torrent added to tracker was in March.
• http://www.ziolomu.helloweb.eu/tracker/ — 20 torrents.
• http://www.torrent-lab.com — 12 torrents.

lol the X staff of blackcats opened up torrent-lab (was seeders-paradise at first) many moons ago, when i got back online, they made me mod on it, didnt like it one bit, so made my own (with the help of lords who is a sysop on torrent-lab, or was anyway.)

they used to be a good XBOX tracker when i was there, 2000 torrents and 5,000 members.

wonder what happened to them to only have 12 torrents on the site.

and no i cant be arsed to sign up again just to see.

Yar. I used to use T-Lab a fair bit for original XBOX games. It was pretty good at the time. I'd forgotten all about it until I read this.

Remember its not the trackers fault the torrents work through seeders and leechers in the swarm

I've got NO problem with cheggit - Maybe you should try downloading something other than hamster porn, and then you'd find that people are actually seeding the other stuff quite well.

I hate it when morons criticize Demonoid like that, just because your connection doesn't get maxed on every download.

With all that great content, the speeds are very forgivable.

I agree totally.. I've been at demonoid since 2002 or something and i've never had one torrent that stopped because of no seed until this week. For this reason I think its still having some teething problems after the six month downtime but content is 10/10 nonetheless.

Well even at the 120 KB/s he says that is still fast also Demoniod is a semi-private tracker so any one can dump ext torrents to it so you can't blame on the tracker its self

I personally prefer dedicated trackers if I'm looking for rare content. The potential speed, rarity, and quality of such a model is unmatched.

Is it because he used the lower case b instead of the uppercase B, which would mean that getting 0.89kbps would be impossible?

u just cant criticize demonoid bcoz u have some private trackers, bcoz its the best tracker out there with really really good stuff, ya speed sometimes sucks but it doesnt matter when u go with content rating.

Eargasm
07-06-2008, 05:18 AM
Demonoid has historically been mixed in speed, but they have stuff seeded for a long ass time. If you wait a couple days, you can get 15GB+ torrents no problem. At least that's how it used to be. I actually joined BitMeTV because Demonoid shut down, and since then I've never needed to go back.

Either way, Demonoid had The Daily Show and The Colbert Report everyday when even 0day trackers didn't have them.

Mr.sharer

demonoid is a public tracker :dabs:

Demonoid isn't a private tracker, atleast their mods don't see it that way.
That aside,public/private its one of the best torrent sites out there especially for rare files, site design's great, great community too. Their forums are back btw.

Anyway thanks for that list.

2nd: Apart from the short list at the end of the thread (trackers with few/few torrents) I havent set up any thing on Demonoid.

3rd: I think demonoid shouldnt be classified as a private tracker but as the best public tracker.

And again please dont go too harsh on comments

I always thought of Demonoid as a Private Tracker, but it is rather
Public I know now. Still you need invite codes to get in - but they're
basically unlimited as I've heard...

Like Demonoid but BitMeTV e.g. is unmatched in that genre.

Most of the files are hosted there. It was actually the second-biggest tracker in the world before it shut down the first time:

I hate to argue on semantics, but private trackers are different from public trackers in 3 ways:
1) they regulate their torrents, requiring them to be "private," and prohibiting users from uploading them to other trackers.
2) they require a person to sign-in in order to download their hosted torrents
3) they recognize users in order to record their ratio and other statistics.

Demonoid scores a 2/3. It's private in my books.

1.they have minimum regulation on their torrents.
2. you don't have to sign-in to dl torrents (with some limitation)
3. the ratio is all screwed up.

but i still think Demoniod is the best

Which 2?
I havent really used the old D in a while (at least on a regular basis), but I think I remember finding their torrents on mininova (#1) And downloading from there before i was a member (#2)

Also, although they keep track of your d/l and u/l (kind of) they dont ban you for bad ratio.

Ali-g
07-07-2008, 03:42 PM
Nope there are far far far worse than demonoid (check this thread 1st page)
But truth is Demonoid speeds arent that great
And I wouldnt even classify it as private because
a- U can see thier torrents at other public sites
b- U can download from them even without having an acc
c- They dont have any rule for ratio, and they are oversized

Anyway thats my point of view, and Im not discussing which is better private vs public
