Ftp Speeds from USA to EU Seedboxes

Hi,

I am planning to take a new dedicated seedbox most probably with hosting-ie.


I was wondering what the FTP speeds are from EU to USA ? some people have told me that FTP speeds are less. But how less?

I need the FTP speeds to atleast saturate my ISPs Download speed (6-10mbps). Can I get that much speed from Hosting-ie or other EU based seedboxes ?

I will be using multipart Ftp client like cute FTP. I usually use 8 parts concurrently.



Presently my seedbox is in USA and I get very good FTP speeds to and from it.


Can someone clarify?

when i had keyweb i got about 80kbps per part. I maxed my connection by using ~10 parts i think

So maxing out speeds by increasing the parts is not a problem, right ? I mean does it scale pretty linearly with the number of parts ?

i think you need a lot of connections, if you have ever used usenet or ftp you might have realized you need AT least 4 connection(at least for me) to max out connection

I use cuteftp and I max my speed.

I have 20 megs down and I max it all the time.

Mine was with hosting-Ie also.

Yes I did.

I have fios 20/20

I'm now with ovh and the ftp speeds are the same I max out all the time.

I can upload at max speed also.

As sarge said you may need to change some settings.

Why did you switch from hosting-ie to OVH? How do they compare to each other in torrent ul/dl speeds ?
