View Full Version : IE not working !! and so the other related Applications.

i have IE 7 and Firefox2 on my windows XP SP2 system.
i add one extension named "IE Tab" in my firefox to open IE in my Firefox browser since then i cant able to work properly on my IE7.
i cant even able to connect to the internet through IE. still internet running fine on firefox.
now here is the real problem.... now i cant able to connect any other application which using internet details by IE (i guess) to internet. like putty, windows updates etc. :mellow:
i know it sounds weired but it's true. i tried uninstall that firefox extension (IE tab) and checked my IE again but it wont help. still i cant able to connect internet through IE or other application.
please help me.
i searched on google about this problem but it seems that it's only happening with me :( .
Check the proxy settings in IE.

well...i have broadband connection so i really not using any proxy for any application.
Ok.
Download Winsockfix and imho your problem will be solved.

Did you reboot your computer after that?
If yes,try another softwares "Hijackthis" and "LSPfix".
Also follow this method:
Start-Run--> type ipconfig/release hit enter and go back in type ipconfig/renew and hit enter.

Then some files associated with IE might be missing, try to upgrade IE.

upgrade also going to happen via internet access through IE..... i download and install old version of IE like IE6 & IE5... but still...i cant able to access internet on any version of IE:(
due to this i cant able to use putty, Yahoo Messenger etc...!!!
You haven't actually said what error message you get (if any). It's a bit difficult to diagnose the problem without that basic information.
For other programs, check if they've got options to use their own settings rather than IE settings. If they have and you can get them working that way, it seems like an indication that the problem is with the internet options for IE.

well... after repairing windows via XP cd now everything going smoothly !!!
