Just recently I have been getting this error on torrents:
"Storage error: [File chunk write error: Cannot allocate memory.]"
I really can't work out why this is happening, so I put it to you guys to give suggestions. :)
Thanks in advance.

Check and make sure you have free disk space
Check and make sure you have free memory
Try rebooting your server

Rebooting seemed to work. Strange thing is, usually the RAM is completely used up. Even after rebooting it still says FREE: 4MB (out of 1GB) yet it runs fine. This is the first time its actually been low (134MB used) although its creeping up rapidly.
EDIT: Forgot to say... thanks guys! :)
EDIT2: RAM usage really high again. 12MB free. :(

Wtf? I have never seen rTorrent go over 100MB used...and I rock it with fast sites and DVDs only.
Increase the read ahead line or whatever in the config file maybe.

Do a 'ps aux' without the quotes and see what's eating up your memory.
