I think P2P itself will die in a couple years, and will be replaced by a faster and safer protocol. Trackers will still thrive, IMO, but will be forced to either change with the technology or just exist as communities. In this new age, file-sharing and "pirating" will only get more popular as the years go on, and eventually will become a mainstream practice.

Gone, most likely. I'm guessing with the attacks on net neutrality, the increased legal pressure in the US, and therefore a lot of other countries, that torrenting and filesharing as a whole, in its current state, will diminish. The number of public sites will begin to decline, and private sites (if any still exist), will have a much, much more heightened level of security, and most likely use a different protocol to share warez.

i think torrent are replaced by high encrypted protocols and probably 265 bit encryption in the sites..........

The technology will definitely change due to all the law suits taking place globally.

I think the future will have a protocol similar to BT but will become tracker-less (no website) and will use a system similar to Tor so they nobody can verify that the IP they see in the swarm is downloading illegal content. Also encryption to avoid traffic shaping.

We might not be using the bit torrent protocol but filesharing will never die, there will always be a way round it ;)

10 years ago I was using a P2P program called Hotline, which pretty much no one uses anymore. I think it will be the same with BT. Things get improved upon and replaced.

Absolutely, there will be something new, but we'll have to see what happens with net neutrality and isps.
