You're a computer geek. You like to play with stuff. You know that the fun of working with

new SCSI adapter in my system last night and Windows 95 just recognized it and it worked the

What self-respecting geek would enjoy an experience like that? When something works as

Linux comes in a variety of flavors, so once you think that you've mastered one version, you can start on the next! Still bored? There are all kinds of graphical user interfaces you can pick, none of which use the same window manipulation symbols!
You can mix and match software components, so your Linux is unlike anyone else's. This makes for great technical dialogues on the Internet. What a great way to meet people with similar interests!
Best of all, you cant buy Linux productivity applications at your local computer software retailer. Instead, you can download files from the Internet and run bizarre installation procedures. All the while, you can feel yourself getting smarter.
