I have an enormous tv and I still, to this day, don't understand why they even make widescreen. It's so lame. Go with the fullscreen if you're preordering a dvd.

edit: and in the downloadable widescreen version you can't see the cut on Neo's hand after he blocks the sword. Kinda sucks.

I do agree tho I wish that I get better resolutions than fullscreen ones so my encodes look better with more screen.

YES, it will be WIDESCREEN (or if you prefer, letterboxed). The format will look the same, but not the aspect ratio. Actually, I believe that the DVDRip by Pr0nStarS has only the black bars cropped, the video itself is intact, differently from the Daduck reencode or the Centropy Telesync.

Get the widescreen version (it is the original format released in the cinemas) and get a widescreen plasma tv! :D

ANY movie connisuer (sp) who choses full screen over wide screen needs to have their head checked.

why would you want to watch 2/3 of what they filmed? does that make much sense? not to me

so what your telling me is the aspet ratio will have diffrences in the da duck encodes and the orginal widescreen

so it concludes me to a last question in the widescreen approximenty how big are the bars

25% of the of the screen or 15%

'suppose' you watch your movie in 640x480 pixels display, or 4:3.

the dvdrip is 640x272, or approximately 2.35:1.
in this case, the black bars would take approximately 43% of the vertical screen.

the dvd itself will be also 2.35:1, the same as the dvd rip.

if you prefer, you can change the sizes and watch it in 16:9... in this case, the black bars will take 25% of the vertical screen, and after a couple of minutes watching the movie you'll get used and will not notice the distortion.
